Five star experience

We arrived in Calais off the ferry and had a punctured tyre which set back our plans. We had booked an apartment that night but couldn't stay because of massive delays. We found the ibis hotel in St Quentin. We were met by a very cheerful manager called Alex. Was absolutely welcoming, very friendly and set us all at ease considering the day we just had.
The next morning we came down to a fantastic breakfast - really good quality ingredients. The assortment of tea available was the best I've ever found anywhere. Loose tea leaves (authentic tea) added a lovely touch. There was a variety of bread, carrot cake, fresh eggs you could boil yourself, fresh juices including a healthy cucumber/green juice, crèpes with Nutella and Biscotti, salami and fresh cheeses. The continental breakfast was unbelievable. Clearly someone put a lot of thought and pride in it.
I want to single out Fanny who was incredibly accommodating to our requests (we were a party of eight). Nothing was too big of an ask. She rang around ibis hotels to book us on our journey southwards. She offered to help us with other requests. I miss this kind of customer service. It's so very rare these days. Fanny was incredibly cheerful, sociable, just all around the best hotel receptionist/manager I've come across.
I'd never considered ibis before - would highly recommend this place. Secure parking which is locked at night. Air conditioning was definitely welcome, considering we're going through the fourth heatwave in UK/France.
This place is outstanding. Forget booking.com or VRBO. Five star experience and quite reasonable too. A real revelation.

Everything you could want for breakfast. Everything was fresh and well presented. Plenty of secure parking. Restaurants close by 3 minutes walking. Nice area. Highly Recommend. Perfect stop over heading south.

Lovely stay with friendly staff and clean rooms. Dog was made welcome with a toy on arrival. Lovely breakfast and great parking. Will stay again when driving through Saint Quentin.
