Magical stay

An amazing stay. The castle, perfectly restored, combines authenticity, comfort and refinement. Every detail exudes care and passion, whether in the decoration of the rooms, the quality of the Welcoming or the serenity that emerges from the place.
Welcoming was simply remarkable: warm, attentive and full of generosity. One immediately feels expected and considered. A unique place that I recommend without hesitation to all those looking for beauty, authenticity and lifestyle.

A village in the Puy de Dome.

Charming little village of Puy de Dome. Unfortunately the castle, on the eve of Heritage Days, was closed to visitors. Nearby, a pretty little church with a very nice crypt charmed us.
It was for me a return to the roots, 70 years later, at a time when we came to this village, from Clermont, in an ancient coach that went as far as Champeix.

Excellent visit to the castle!

Excellent visit by a young history student who is passionate about what he does. The visit was very interesting, and our guide had all the answers to our questions.
I really recommend this tour.

A GRAND STAY

Stayed 2 nights in this imposing, beautifully restored castle. Really historic, but very comfortable, with a private sitting room in our suite, as well as the communal one. all mod cons and very well equiped and cleaned. Vast grounds and plenty of secure parking. Very peaceful and close to the pretty village. Owners delightful, very helpful and full of useful local advice. Breakfast first class.
Only downside wasthe lack of restaurants in the village on a Sunday/Monday, meaning a drive to the two suggested (though one was within a long walking distance). Much recommended.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It was a real pleasure hosting you and making sure you would get the best from your stay in Auvergne. You could discover its two unique volcanoes' chains and scenic roads. We are entering now the fall : our indian summer would normaly decorate the trees with so many different colors...

Perfect base for exploring the nearby Parc Volcanique

This is an extraordinary property, beautifully run by M. & Mme. Penicaud, whose home it is. They are as welcoming as they are discreet, happy to share their knowledge of the historic chateau and the surrounding area or simply leave you to enjoy the splendor of the place on your own. The five rented rooms are in a nicely separate area, with access to a beautiful common room/library, breakfast room, and spacious gardens. One of the great Auvergnat Romansque churches is practically next door, and several more, nestled in spectacular volcanic landscape scenery, are an easy drive away. The village itself is quite small with limited dining options within walking distance, but your hosts are happy to recommend options a bit further afield and to reserve for you. You will have an impeccable experience stopping over here.

We are very greatfull to you to hear you had a great experience while staying with us and discovering the surrounding area. We are proud to say the volcanoes chain of the Puys has been classified as part of the World Heritage by UNESCO.
Staying a few days is indeed the best way to get the best of such an experience.
