If you like to share a house with owners, like B&B this maybe for you.
However, this is not a luxury Chateaux. 2 star at best It’s a family home with Grounds not well maintained and home not a lot better. ( clutter everywhere). Too pricey for what it is. We stayed in the junior suite with cracked tiles, stained throw, cheap bathroom mirror surround plastic shower that didn’t drain.
Bottom line. …Would never come back.

Deeply disappointing...

Cold and impersonal welcome
Everything seems dictated by an economy of means: no water glass made available in the room, no coffee maker, impossible to have an omelet or eggs on the dish at breakfast
Access to the bathroom is via several steps, which should be indicated in advance

History and comfort awaits in Saumur.

A simply stunning historical building, set in beautiful gardens and managed by Mary a wonderful host. We had a dreadful journey getting there due to bad weather but we were made to feel welcome and at home the moment we took our first sets in the chateau. The room we had was 'Medici' and the king size four poster was something to behold, I don't think I have slept as well for years. The breakfast at the communal table was a brilliant idea, mingling with guests and exchanging ideas on a daily basis for a week. At only 2km from the town centre, all on flat ground, it is easy to leave the car and enjoy a stroll on the left bank of the Loire. Mary and Monique made our return to Saumur after 36 years an unforgettable experience.
