An awful experience at La Grande Menuere

Well if you want to be treated like a grande pile of manure- go there!!! I was there with a dear friend whose lovely daughter got married this weekend and the hostess did her best to give everyone a difficult time and make us miserable! One would think she'd be joyful to receive a bride and share in this joy-filled occasion. But no. She refused to allow the wedding party to join the bride in the big bedrooms/bath Inside the residence to get hair and makeup done. They were instead crammed into a small. HOT room upstairs, along with the bide. The woman charged a surcharge for their presence. Then she gave me an earful when I returned to the residence without a key to the outside door. it was raining outside and dark and I had no car and no way to return to the reception and so I was forced to knock. She complained that her son had to open the door for me! Then she criticized the bride in front of her mother saying she should be ashamed to leave her room in such a mess! Even though we left in a hurry to make it to the church on time- AND she charged extra to change the sheets for the bride and groom who returned that night. She charged 20 euros extra for this!
Then she complained when I took a second cup of coffee the next morning! She literally yelled at me when I came down for breakfast and continued to make unpleasant faces and disgusted sounds each time she came through the room!
This is just a miserable lady who likes to throw fits and has no concept of hospitality! I will never go back and wouldn't wish this experience on ANYBODY!!
The woman's husband was more pleasant but this woman was "insupportable" as they say in France. Too bad!!

just lovely, highly recommend

This little place is lovely, very well equipped, clean, peaceful, with views, weather was perfect, Jean-Pierre our host was so welcoming and friendly, but not intrusive. Breakfast was delicious, lovely Brioche, crusty bread, choice of preserves, natural yogurt (would like honey with it), all beautifully presented. thank you Jean Pierre, sorry we weren't there longer. Very close to Nantes airport too. We highly recommend.
