If you are looking for the top hotel in Gambia, that is Baobab Holiday Resort.

A very cozy hotel with extremely friendly staff. Breakfast is fine, fried eggs, omelette, pancakes, boiled egg, oliebollen and so on. The spacious rooms downstairs are perfect, wonderfully located by the pool. The menu is top notch, the lunch menu consists of about 12 delicious dishes, even bread with croquette. The dinner menu is fantastic with more than 35 dishes, of which the Shrimp in Breadcrumbs are the absolute best. Delicious espresso encapucino at the bar and recently also fresh Dòrange Juice with Lime available. The WiFi at the pool is fine. Taxis are also plentiful at competitive prices, for less than 5 euros you can be on the famous strip with numerous restaurants and all the fun. We don't need this hustle and bustle, we enjoy the pool here. You can also exchange money here at respectable rates, or you can exchange money on the street, which is teeming with exchange offices. All in all, a wonderful hotel to stay in, definitely worth it if you visit Gambia.

Africa apart but great, be alert, hotel is worth 1 star, good breakfast and pool

Check-in vh hotel: free safe reception, otherwise pay everything extra (air conditioning, small fridge, both €6 per day, unnecessary). 1 working socket, sewage problems, forgotten towel 1 pp, forgotten room to clean. Furthermore nice pool incl. daily visit of monkeys, good breakfast (baguette, cheese, 3 kinds of eggs, banana, watermelon, pancakes, cerials, nescafe / tea.
Take the green cab for safety.

Authorized, green tax/wave, reliable, arrives on time, no pathetic stories, cheap.
With other, female tourists driven by him* to the Senegambia Strip for delicious restaurants (drop off business card and he* gets called), to Senegal Fathala Wildlife Park and Paradise Beach.
Furthermore, you can arrange that you can go to the gym with him (entrance 3 euros), pick-up service, hair salon etc.

Furthermore compliments to Corendon, the transfer and flight well. The info meeting at the Corendon hotel was informative and fun. The Africa Evening cousin was fantastic for 19 euros.
You can change money at the hotel (1 euro less than on the strip). It is better to change cash euros because credit card and debit card costs unnecessary money and cannot be used everywhere.
You really can't walk alone as a woman without a taxi/escort after sunset. Therefore, have yourself dropped off and picked up (wait in the restaurant or hotel).
Furthermore, Gambia is a great country. The children love sweets (minty), notebooks, pens etc. Also paracetemol (eg for hospitals or so).
The Fathala Wildlife Park, definitely worth it (say Kenya connoisseur with 5 days safari). Stress at the ferry and border. Stay focused, close to the guide (sticky sticky), really beautiful.

Once but never again

Photos of this hotel are nicely edited does not match the reality at all
Everything is old with overdue maintenance
Breakfast is a drama even by African standards
Bath towel service you have to beg for a towel
Located on a very busy road that you have to cross to go to the beach 10 minutes walk over some kind of cross course
Staff is nice rooms are clean

Give it a miss

Horrendous, night club on site, prostitutes attempting to access your room. Staff were nice. Only stayed 3 nights then paid to stay elsewhere. Had to pay an extra£5 each per night for air conditioning and the fridge.
It was a nice site, but totally ruined by experience.
