Fine, but too high a price for what is offered.
Clean and tidy, somewhat gloomy.
Excellent shower and well-functioning air conditioning.
Friendly, overzealous staff.
Clean swimming pool in a beautiful garden, where peace and quiet was often hard to find.
Loud construction workers with demolition hammers, Polish guests with very loud disco sounds and on Sundays entire Gambian families who took possession of the place.
Furthermore, Calabash is extremely noisy across the board.
So bring earplugs!

Poor service
We were shown to a nice quiet table at the back away from the Main Street. A waiter brought the menus and took our drinks order and it all went downhill from there. We had to remind them of our drinks order as they couldn’t remember exactly what we wanted. When the drinks did arrive we had to remind them that one drink was a double and not the single they had brought. During this hiccup our food order had been taken.
After about 30 minutes they came to check what food we had ordered and after another 15 minutes I enquired after our food and was told there had been a delay due to a large party at the rear of the property. That story turned out to be untrue.
After more than an hour I raised my complaint to the manager who finally admitted that the kitchen had screwed up. As an apology he offered to take a round of drinks off the bill which I accepted. After a further ten minutes our food arrived by which time all we wanted to do was to eat and go home.
I appreciate that mistakes are made but to palm us off with a lie is unacceptable.
The food was average and not really worth the hour and ten minutes wait. We won’t be going back.
