A home away from home! Excellent place for motorbiker or cyclist groups.

Papazo is a family word of the Nemsadze family running the place. And the hotel matches it very well, it feels very familial. I stayed there for two nights after a bike tour of Svaneti. Mum Nellie brought me very tasty breakfast every morning, its size allowing me to bike around Kutaisi for the whole day needing only a small snack. Dad Nukri and son Gaga truly went out of their way to cater to my special needs - I came with a bike in a box two weeks before my booked stay in Papazo. I needed the box to take the bike back to Ukraine after it. They picked me up from the airport (for a very reasonable fee) with their minivan on my arrival, fed me a dinner and kept the box for me for two weeks at no charge. They also took me to the airport with my bike.
When I came to stay after my tour, Nukri treated me to his excellent home-made wine, and we had lengthy conversations with both Gaga and Nukri. Gaga speaks English, Nukri speaks Russian.
As for the property, the rooms are clean and spacious. There are two dorm-style rooms with 4 and 6 beds and two doubles. One of them is windowless, but has very charming furniture. All the beds are classical singles, pretty narrow, but nevertheless comfortable. There are three toilet/shower blocks in the property. All the rooms face the big kitchen/dining room. The kitchen is fully equipped (2 fridges, stove, oven, kettle, cutlery etc.), guests can make their own tea or snacks any time of night and day. The house has a very spacious yard with grapevine canopy and a welcoming veranda. Apparently, the favorite evening pass-time of the guests is to sit there, sip Nukri's wine and chat about everything from politics to weather in Svaneti.
The property is ideal for groups with bikes or motorbikes, as it has a spacious garage where you can hide your steeds from rain or unwelcome human attention. It is also well positioned, close to the main thoroughfares and not in the maze of narrow central streets. At the time of my trip there were extensive road repairs in the center of Kutaisi, and moving around some of the central neighborhoods was a challenge even on an MTB.
