ATTENTION, DO NOT BOOK!!!

This hotel has not existed since 30.06.2024. When we stood in front of it on the day of arrival, we were startled. The doors are open and everything is mouldy. Not a human soul there. Nevertheless, the room had to be paid in advance!
Fortunately, we were able to stay at Pension Harzer Jodlermeister. They got in touch with the other "room provider" and also helped us get the money back.

They cancelled out of the blue

We were 6 people trekking in Harz, and we had booked Waldhotel Altenbrak for one night. We got a welcome mail the morning before the stay, and at five o'clock they cancelled our three rooms with no reason.
We couldn't call them (they did not answer), and since we were trekking, we could not just drive to another hotel...

Fantastische Lage, kleinere Ärgernisse

Familienausflug nach Altenbrak zu viert. Die Lage der Fewo ist großartig, am Hügel gelegen genießt man die unmittelbare Nähe zum Wald. Der Parkplatz ist nur wenige Meter entfernt. Die Fewo hat einen schönen Balkon mit Blick aufs Tal. Es ist sehr sauber und ich muss es vorweg nehmen; die Matratzen sind Balsam für die müden Wanderknochen. Leider ist es platzmäßig nicht sehr ausgewogen. Die Schlafzimmer sind groß, Wohnzimmer und Küche sind nur etwas für kuschelige Gäste. Aber das ist nicht zu ändern. Ändern würde ich dringend etwas, um die Mückeninvasion in den Griff zu bekommen. Fliegengitter zumindest an den Schlafzimmerfenstern wären toll. Dass schon Gäste vor uns damit ein Problem hatten, davon zeugen die Flecken an Wand und Decke. Ich war zu müde, um in der Nacht noch zum großen Hallali zu blasen. Nun sind wir alle zerstochen. Im Wohnzimmer ist eine Ecke reparaturbedürftig. Die Küche war mein größtes Ärgernis: es roch sehr muffig, Leergut von den vorigen Gästen fand sich im Schrank, eine Teekanne und eine Auswahl an Gläsern fehlen und ja, normalerweise waschen wir das benutzte Geschirr ab, aber dafür sind Lappen und Spülmittel nötig. Die Teller hatten auch schon bessere Tage. Die Brötchen konnten wir nicht aufbacken, da jedesmal beim Anstellen des kleinen Ofens die Sicherung rausflog. Das Personal vom zugehörigen Waldhotel half unkompliziert und sehr freundlich aus. Vielen Dank! Zudem wäre es hilfreich zu wissen, wo der Müll getrennt werden kann. Alles in allem war es für einen Kurzausflug ok. Längere Aufenthalte könnten problematisch werden. Nichtsdestotrotz ist Altenbrak ein perfekter Ausgangspunkt für Erkundungen!

Unglaublich dreist

Ich habe so etwas noch nie erlebt. Aufgrund der aktuellen Pandemie habe ich eine Stornierungsanfrage über Booking gesendet. Nach weit mehr als 48 Stunden ohne jegliche Reaktion habe ich mich erbost an das Hotel gewende. Kein anderes Hotel hat bis jetzt so schlecht reagiert wie dieses. Wirklich keins. Als Antwort bekam ich dann sehr schnell zu lesen, dass das arme arme Hotel es aufgrund von zu wenig Mitarbeitern nicht immer schafft in 48 Stunden zu antworten. Wenn ich eine Antwort innerhalb einer Stunde erwarte, möge ich bitte ein teureres Hotel buchen. Nach einer weiteren Nachricht von mir wurde dann der Kurs vom Hotel geändert und auf einmal sagte man mir, es liege gar keine Stornierungsanfrage vor. Komisch, dass das bei der ersten Mail ganz anders klang. Ich habe dem Hotel dann viel Spaß mit meinem Geld gewünscht und auch mitgeteilt, dass ich diesen Fall an den Kundenservice von Booking weiter geleitet habe. Als Antwort habe ich bekommen, dass sie das gerne wie Erwachsene geklärt hätten, und jetzt aber über den Kundenservice weiter kommunizieren. Also genau das, was ich ja vorher geschrieben habe. Ich war in diesem Jahr in vielen Hotels und nicht eins war so unterirdisch stümperhaft wie dieses. Und ich hätte auch verstanden, wenn es nicht storniert werden kann. Aber einfach nicht antworten und dann lügen...schwierig. Aber so wie ich das hier lese, ist Kommunikation generell keine Stärke des Hotels

Mehr Hostel als Hotel

Leider sind die Inhaber nicht kompetent und sehr unfreundlich gegenüber den Gästen, wir haben während des Aufenthaltes mehrere Drohungen gegenüber den Gästen mitbekommen. Sie waren hysterisch laut...
Defekter Fernseher wurde trotz bitte nicht ausgetauscht.
Leider Schimmel im Bad in den Fugen, nicht empfehlenswert!
Frühstück war o.k. obwohl der Kaffee leider nur dunkel gefärbt ist.
Zur Durchreise o.k.,nicht zum Urlaub geeignet.
