Friendly hotel

Located in the centre of Apolda, but still quiet. Very good parking facilities, including the possibility to charge electric cars.
Room was spacious and comfortable enough.
Breakfast plenty.
Staff is very friendly and there's a play area for kids on the 3rd floor.

Nice hotel for a weekend in the beautiful Thüringen

We were staying for two nights in the Hotel. The room was very big, with a separate walk-in-closet. The breakfast included some local specialities. I liked the hotel and I am rating it above average. It is located close to Weimar which we visited during our stay. Weimar is a great city, lots of culture, but also great shopping opportunities.

Nice breakfast. Room requires changes.

Nice breakfast and a very friendly and helpful staff. Room requires changes - pillows are so flat that give no head support; shower doesn’t work making it impossible to get the right water temperature.

Featherbeds and pillows no good for me.

When we checked in, I thought I was going to love this place. Nice, comfortable rooms, pretty bathroom (no bathtub, sadly), nice view and beautifully quiet. My daughter, cousin and I had a lovely dinner (our plan included breakfasts and dinners at a heck of a price), and konked out to sleep. I slept like an old dog in front of a warm fire.
And I woke up looking like a stuffed chimp. Oh boy. Allergies from the bedding caused me no end of trouble. After spending several hours taking medicine in an attempt to breathe, I went to the front desk and rasped (they speak English, but I speak German, so I always speak German to be polite), to see if they had hypoallergenic bedding. I barely had my request out when two maids went to change the bedding. I went to bed that night, confident that I would have no further problems.
Bummer. Whatever remained of the allergens in my bed, or the feathers in my daughter's bed (my cousin had her own room), caused me the same problems as the day before, but worse. I went to have a lovely breakfast in the restaurant, and waited for myfamily to wake up, so we could make a decision. Sadly, we had to check out of the hotel, so I wouldn't end up checking into a hospital. (The hospital in the area is new, and I hear it's very nice.) We received no refund for the days we didn't stay in the hotel (2 days). I cannot blame the hotel, because we purchased a package with room, breakfast and dinner.
On one hand, I got a great look at the hotel before we left. As I mentioned, the rooms are clean, roomy and quiet. I was surprised to note that the double rooms had no place to store our suitcase, although the single rooms had one. A bathtub would have been nice. Not being booted from a table because "those are reserved as dinner tables, go find a breakfast table", only to see a German party escorted to the same table a few minutes later would have left a much better taste of this place in my mouth.
The food was average. Of the three hotels we stayed at, this food was the least tasty. On the other hand, it was still pretty good. The breakfasts we delicious, as long as you like German breakfasts, which I do. (rolls, lunchmeats, delicous jam, yogurt, those types of things) There was a gorgeous old car in the lobby, along with some not very nice old mannequins, although I have no idea why they were there. The hotel has a lovely view of the "schloss," which is nothing like what Americans think of a castle, but lovely nonetheless.
All in all, a very nice place to stay if you have no allergies.

Central location for visiting the area

This is a entral location for visiting Naumburg, Jena, Weimar, and Erfurt, which can be reched by car or train. A little bit difficult to find because of road works and pedestrian area. It is a modern conference hotel and has all services we wanted. Room is large and clean. Heard a little bit of noise from the corridor.
Room was facing the road, which although little traffic was a bit noisy due to cobbles.
Breakfast buffet had a good choice of breads, old cuts, cheeses, bread and jams. Also some hot choices, although sometimes these were a littl bit tired.
