My 50th. Birthday on June 13, 2026, at Villa Westerberge was simply dreamy – from the very first minute, I felt I was in the best hands!
The initial conversation with Mr. Lampadius was so positive and competent that my decision for Villa Westerberge was immediately made.
The entire organization was subsequently handled by Ms. Le, and she did it with excellence: Since I come from beautiful Lower Bavaria and had no opportunity to discuss anything on-site in advance, I had to rely 100% on the arrangements made via email and phone. And I can say: Everything went perfectly! Every one of my wishes was fulfilled exactly according to my ideas.
We celebrated in the beautiful orangery of the villa – the ambiance, the decor, the buffet, and the cake arrangement were simply first-class.
The rooms also enchanted us; one feels as if they are in a real fairy tale castle.
Our DJ Luca perfectly accompanied the evening musically and fulfilled every single music request – the atmosphere was fantastic!

Those with special needs are in the best hands here: Our disabilities were discussed in advance over the phone, and we would like to express our gratitude to Ms. Le, who advised us with extraordinary kindness and patience. At the reception, we were warmly welcomed — one felt like a guest from the very first moment, not a customer.

Initially, we were offered the charming tower room, which, however, proved to be too challenging for our needs. The solution did not take long to arrive: A beautiful room on the first floor — conveniently accessible by elevator — was spontaneously and effortlessly provided to us. The room itself was impeccably clean, very comfortably furnished, and radiated the refined charm of the entire house. Overall, Villa Westerberge is pleasantly designed to be accessible — a real plus that one should not take for granted in a house of this character.

The staff once again showed their best side: attentive, helpful, and always discreet — just as one would wish in a house of this class.

Always worth a trip
Three years ago, we spent a wellness weekend here. Since we enjoyed it so much back then, we booked it for our wellness weekend with friends this year. It was again a very nice weekend, the booked massages were very good, the kitchen is highly recommended, we had a three-course menu, everything was very delicious. We especially want to thank Mr. Lampadius Junior for his friendly and personal manner, his commitment, and his expertise regarding the drinks at the bar, which made the evenings on both days something special.

Stylish old building with plenty of room for improvement in every respect
The staff are nice and friendly, the service (dinner) rather unstructured.
Wi-Fi in the attic room not usable, I dialed in and flew off the network immediately at the first input. Best network near the elevator, there are three routers!
The attic room small and poorly designed, the double bed but good and clean.
The very small bathroom with an even smaller plastic shower cubicle and high entrance only safe for articulated-sporty persons, not suitable for overweight.
Breakfast buffet adequate but unkind put together. The baking rolls are cardboardy.
Dinner would deserve a “better chef”, which I know much better and more harmoniously also in terms of quality, preparation and presentation.

It could have been a nice stay. It's a shame, I'm afraid.
Villa Westerberge is a very nice and well renovated old wall. Very quiet located on a small pond and away from civilization. The rooms are lovingly decorated and stylishly designed.
A treat for every eye, only unfortunately in many places not thought to the end.
Lots of light - lots of shade, clearly too many shades.
After a friendly welcome, a small tour to explain the premises followed.
My summary. A very pretty hotel with lots of flair and charm. Unfortunately, however, there are some shortcomings that are difficult to understand and unacceptable. Here there is an urgent need for action, then it also works with a recommendation and guests who would like to come back.
However, due to the dirty sheets (more on this below), the hotel has lost all chance of a recommendation. Such a thing must never happen and I show absolutely no understanding for it. Hygiene is a top priority.
Two nights over the weekend is okay, no longer definitely.
Rooms:
I booked a double room through a tour operator, advertised with beautiful photos. I got an economy fun, uh, savings room. The rooms, as seen in the photos, were apparently only allocated to guests who booked directly at the hotel. Although I saved 30€ per night, nothing was described of economy.
The room, small and especially very narrow, seemed clean at first glance, except for an old candy paper in the drawer of the nightstand.
In the wardrobe was a rack for the suitcase ready, regrettable only that there is no room for it in the room.
The box spring bed with 2x2 meters was great. The blackout curtains should also be highlighted positively.
The windows could only be opened by smaller guests with a stepladder (not available), because the window handles were at a height of 2.20 meters above the ground.
In the room a bottle of water was available as a welcome drink for free.
A sufficiently large TV adorned the wall, Wi-Fi was offered for free, which was very unstable (in the room). Or rather, useless.
Two bathrobes and slippers were ready.
The first thing that struck me negatively was not seeing outlets far and wide. Only after a long search did I find one under the desk. My request for a distribution board was immediately followed up.
Especially in the age of today's technology, sockets are actually standard, especially near the bed.
The second negative – and I show no indulgence here – was an unmistakable disgusting stain on the bedsheet. Just disgusting. Even if the sheet was replaced immediately, such a thing is unacceptable.
The bathroom – made entirely of plastic walls with the flair of a wet room on a container ship, was a sufficient size with many shelves and was pleasantly bright. I didn't mind the flair.
However, the shower entrance had a height of 36 cm. Not for people with disabilities. Especially dangerous when exiting. A small platform on the tile floor would have been helpful.
In addition, the bathroom had no sound insulation whatsoever. You should know yourself and your partner's biological physiology very well or want to get to know them.
Breakfast:
I have had many stays in various hotels, guesthouses and motels. But I haven't had to experience anything like this before.
On the table was placed a decker with sausage and cheese, as well as a thermos with lukewarm coffee, which was enough for exactly one and a half cups per person. If you want cocoa, you should pay for it.
The rolls were also allocated. Two wheat buns, beware now comes the hammer – 1 grain bun, 1 slice of toast and 1 slice of bread – FOR TWO GUESTS. That's not the logic that opened up to me. Add two pieces of butter that were cut so thin that the light shone through, respect who has such a sense of proportion when cutting.
There was also a sideboard with some juice, fruit, cornflakes, tea, yogurt and jam. The latter, as so often, unfortunately inedible chemistry in plastic. The honey, on the other hand, was very good.
Hot dishes included plain scrambled eggs from the Tetrapack, fried bacon and warm pepper strips. That’s it. Repeating daily. No fried egg, no boiled egg, no omelet. No. Absolutely listless and idealess, like everything in the hotel has to do with food.
Dinner:
I had booked half board, which was offered as a 3-course meal.
Starter, main course, dessert – without choice. They eat what the maître de cuisine says. No problem for an “all-eater” like me, everyone else, hmm. Bad luck.
On the first evening we had forest mushroom cream soup, roast pork with red cabbage and dumplings and an apple strudel with strawberry ice cream vanilla sauce and whipped cream.
On the second evening a tiny salad, pike-perch fillet with mixed vegetables and potato mash and two scoops of ice cream.
It was clearly convenience food which was served unlovingly.
The price for half board is 34 euros. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio absolutely does not fit.
Even if it tasted (partially) shameful for a hotel with this flair.
The table was a little too long. Unsuitable for entertaining without disturbing neighbouring guests or even holding hands. Real coziness didn't come up. Chic, no question, but impractical. Eat and get out of here fast. No need to enjoy the food together with a glass of wine in comfort.
Sport:
There is a large gym with very good and high quality equipment. I was pleasantly surprised.
The sauna is generally only open from 4 pm and also only by pre-order. For a hotel that advertises wellness, I actually expect more.
On the day of arrival, the sauna would not have been usable until after 6 p.m., as a wedding party was served in the room where the sauna is accessed. One does not want the hotel guests to disturb society with their bathrobe sight. I can understand that, at least as a wedding guest. As a hotel guest who wants to use the advertised and co-paid sauna, rather less. Especially since there was enough space in the room to allow the passage with the help of a Spanish partition.
The sauna itself is very nice and can accommodate 8 – 10 people. A pretty relaxation room with a large glass front and a view of the garden invites you to relax. The 5 loungers with blankets are very comfortable. Unfortunately, however, only 5 loungers. Also no chairs far and wide. There were 8 guests present during my visit. Three were allowed to stand, rest.
I cannot say about the massages on offer.
