Incompetent and dirty

Absolutely unacceptable experience. This was one of the worst hotel check-ins I’ve ever had, especially from a property associated with Marriott.
We arrived at 10:30pm after a long flight, exhausted, only to be met by a completely dysfunctional front desk team. The system was apparently not working, and instead of handling the situation professionally, they seemed completely lost. They gave us a room with twin beds despite our booking clearly being for a queen bed. Then, unbelievably, the front desk staff had the nerve to question my husband about why we wanted a queen bed — the same room type we had originally booked. Completely ridiculous.
The level of incompetence continued when they didn’t even seem to know which rooms were actually clean and available. It was only after my husband had to be firm and push them that the front desk “clown” finally decided to check the situation himself and do the basic work that should have been done in the first place.
When we finally got into the room, it was not properly cleaned. The sink and the area around the bed were dirty (see picture), which is completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone a Marriott property.
This was a disappointing and frustrating experience from start to finish. Poor organisation, poor service, and a lack of basic attention to detail. A hotel is only as good as the people running it, and this front desk team seriously needs improvement. Definitely not what you expect from a Marriott-branded hotel.

So-so....

The hotel is okay and offers a similar price/performance ratio for the rooms as one would expect from other hotel chains. The rooms are clean, and the staff in all areas is very friendly! I found the breakfast for €18 to be completely unacceptable. The cheese and ham looked very pale and not particularly appetizing. At least the cheese tasted that way too. Orange juice was watery and sweet. I do not understand why apples and dried mandarins (on the second day, pineapple) are offered for breakfast in the summer, even though the selection of seasonal fruits in Europe is very large. Or rather, for cost reasons, it is understandable because fresh apricots, strawberries, etc. are more difficult to handle than apples from South Africa. However, at the price charged, one should be able to taste the quality at breakfast, which unfortunately was not the case at Moxy Dresden. Spontaneous and beautiful short vacation.

The perfect hotel to explore Dresden.

The perfect hotel to explore Dresden. In a hip neighborhood, two minutes walk from the Neustadt train station; 10 minute tram from the historic center. Lovely, fresh, clean and modern rooms. The vibe is cool and comfortable. The staff are friendly and efficient. Everything here runs smoothly. Free coffee all day and the best ironing room in any hotel. Shout out to Andy for great service.

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience during our stay and ultimately decided to check out early. We found the staff to be unaccommodating and, at times, discourteous. In addition, overnight parking in the garage required an additional fee, breakfast was not included, and we were informed of extra charges related to our check-in timing, which was unexpected and frustrating. Overall, the experience did not meet our expectations, and we would not choose to stay here again.
