Holiday at its best.

Large complex with hotel, restaurant for all occasions ... with its own chapel (rather church) , swimming pool, large sauna, small gym and large terrace with indoor garden. We had rented for a week and spontaneously extended by a day. Very nice, large room, delicious breakfast, especially the freshly made fried eggs had it done to me. We ate dinner every day on the terrace .. very nice menu with very different dishes, even small portions. I especially liked the matjes with fried potatoes and the plaice fillets in egg coat .. for kneeling. Very friendly service ... we had an all around nice holiday.

Unprofessional, business damaging behaviour

Unprofessional, business damaging behavior!
We wanted to book a weekend at the hotel for my mother. My mother's first telephone inquiry was answered courteously.
When my daughter-in-law then called and asked to make the payment by bank transfer, the employee insisted that only cash payment was possible, even after my daughter-in-law explained that the stay was a gift for my 81-year-old mother, who should not be bothered with the payment. It was also pointed out that my mother had already been a guest at the hotel "Alte Post" several times and the financial settlement had always taken place without problems.
Since I had made a smooth booking last time, I now called the hotel, summarized the above-mentioned "problem talk" and repeated my concern that we would like to pay for the stay with a transfer and yet I would very much hope that this is possible in advance without problems. I heard in a snappy tone that it was only possible with a cash payment on site. Besides, I got to hear that I don't have to be "so unkind" about it. This alone is completely inappropriate behavior for a female hotel employee, but it went further: I replied that I was displeased because I simply wanted to book a stay, my mother should have nothing to do with the procedure and I would like a justification for why a transfer was not possible.
The employee then said she was now “patchy sometimes” and then hung up.
We are appalled by this treatment; my mother, who also appreciated the courteous, friendly staff as a regular guest, will not set foot in this house again.

Not recommended .

Room ok. Food great+. Service by nice , nimble , competent waitress super+. Service by cheeky, incompetent waiter megamies. From 18.00 was dinner .At 18.45 still no soup .At 19.20 main course . Guests nauseatedly plumped for salad.Three tips crooked by independent price increase of drinks.

Very bad, they won't see us again!

We were with friends ( 21 people ) for the pirate dinner at the Landgasthof Alte Post. I really have to say that the service ( Mrs. R. Meier Behrends ) is very unfriendly . We were very much looking forward to a nice meal where they advertise that there is one kilo of meat per person, among other things! Unfortunately, there was only one meat plate with very few side dishes☹️! After half of our group went to the buffet, we found that most of it was up from the buffet ‍♂️. We waited a bit, because we thought that would be filled up. That was not so ‍♂️! After we asked what was going on, the rude waitress told us that there was no meat left. After a complaint to the chef, there would be some minute steaks that were partly not cooked through . There were other very unpleasant word fights with the staff that evening, which we complained to the hotel manager. There was no insight whatsoever because of the lack of food and the absolutely unfriendly service. We had to pay the full invoice amount , which was unfortunately absolutely incomprehensible in our eyes. It should also be mentioned that it was not a rustic robber’s dinner, but we sat in the hotel in a room with other guests who ate “à la carte”. I will never visit this hotel again. Too bad! ! !

Have slackened badly over the years.(ESSEN)

We've been coming to the Old Post Office for 50 years now. Never had any problems. Now no dogs are allowed in. Eating we had a plaice file me egg that was unfortunately Very Matschik. The parking lot is TOP for Womo.On the Einfahtsschlilt it says that everyone is welcome. Unfortunately, that's not right. We wish you all the best of luck. Greeting Fischer
