Great location, good hotel.

Stayed for one night heading for Vienna, hotel was a great choice in all respects. Located right on town square lots of local atmosphere and church bells. Hotel is easy enough to find although you may think you are heading into a pedestrian area (which you are). Need to find somewhere to park up, while checking in and getting directions to car park which is just around the corner. Gentleman on reception was very friendly and helpful and we were sorted in no time. Our room was tastefully furnished, clean and comfortable with great view over the square. We ate outdoors at an Italian restaurant in the square, food was outstanding, service was great and the locals very friendly, it was a great evening. Knew nothing about Bautzen but it is a super place, well worth a visit as is the hotel.

Not four star, if even three.

Not exactly a four star place, if even three star. Nice big old building, great location at Marktplatz. Lovely staff, courteous and helpful. Breakfast lady a gem. But: in dire need of some investment - since the last one must have been around 2001. Get an interior decorator, bring the place up to modern standards, put in airco and a working wifi ( this one is a dystopic erratic and sluggish disaster - if you have to work online, do NOT book here!!!) Breakfast could be a little more lavish ( don’t be stingy on the cheeses, boys and girls - and a little salmon would not go amiss) The pillows are a joke - no: let me rephrase that: an insult. Recap: nice, not four star, huge room for improvement. Price/ quality: hm - not great. Become a genuine four star place first- then justify this price.

Motorcycle Tour

This hotel has a fantastic central location, and oozes character. It also has secure parking for motor cycles, which is big bonus. The room was large and clean and tidy and a well set out bathroom. The staff were very helpfull and offered great advice to make our visit a fantastic experience.

Fine hotel; excellent location in the city centre

Good hotel, booked short notice per telephone.
Nice old building spacious hall ways & stairs, lobby at each level.
Good very clean room; excellent breakfast, vorious choices bread, cheeses, cutlery.
Friendly and helpful staff.
The only point for improvement is their WiFI; difficult to get on iit an very slow!

A cosy stay in Bautzen

Goldener Adler is an old hotel but very well kept, run by mainly ladies, Kudos to them.
Located in the heart of Bautzen, right in the middle of market place, room was surprisingly big and very clean. Room service was prompt. Close to a big shopping mall which has all the options of shopping and eating available in Bautzen.
Only drawback was that there is no dinner available in the hotel and outside restaurants close by 7 so everyday you have to rush for your dinner or else you sleep empty stomach.
But definitely you will enjoy staying here.
