Gastlichkeit mit Berliner Charme

Wir waren für ein Kurzwochenende zu Gast und unsere Wahl fiel auf dieses Hotel, da Freunde, die wir auch besuchen wollten, in der Nähe wohnen.
Die Lage des Hotels ist perfekt: Wer von Süden anreist, ist ohne viel Stadtfahrt da, mit der S-Bahn ist man dann in etwa 20-25 Minuten mitten in der Stadt. Das Auto parkt man problemlos im Hof des Hotels. Trotz der Nähe zur S-Bahn ist es schön ruhig.
Die Zimmer sind hell, freundlich und nett möbliert, das Bad zwar relativ klein, aber völlig ausreichend. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker.
Check In und Check out waren unkompliziert und freundlich. Wir haben am Anreisetag noch in der Bar etwas getrunken und hatten ein sehr freundliches Gespräch mit dem Betreiberpaar, es war insgesamt sehr angenehm und behaglich - wir kommen sicher wieder.

Total disaster

We searched the net for a hotel and found Hotel Doris, the pictures on the net appealed to us. It looked very familiar. But the day of arrival gave us a bad idea. It started with a parking lot, we had to park hundreds of meters away on the road as the hotel has no parking. My wife's walking impaired, it's not possible. Once at the hotel we found that we were facing neglect. The key box hung loose on the wall. Weeds everywhere outside the door. The entrance area, dirty, not pretty. The flowers hang dry and wither on the railings. A 25 step staircase led to our room. Cables came out of the wall! Then the room facing the street, a noise level like at an airport. We didn't close our eyes the night. The mattresses are blown. Bruch and Dallas. The shower and the curtain just dirty and bacon, showers, here better not. The terrace is neglected. The step to the terrace too short and too high, just cobbled together. The beer garden looked like it hadn't been in use for years, impossible to sit down. The breakfast room, messy, dusty and dirty. On the coffee cup we got was still lipstick, just disgusting ! We left this hotel immediately the next day and booked another hotel for two more nights. Come back, definitely not !!!

Kindness? Not here!

We reserved a room for one night because this place in near the airport. Since our flight would arrive late in the night, we kindly wrote an email to the hotel to ask if we could check in late. No one replied. So we called the hotel and no one could speak English. At the end of the call they suggested to write another mail which we did. They finally replied IN GERMAN that it was not possible to check in during the night.
1. I find unbelievable that a hotel near the airport cannot provide a late chek-in
2 (and most important) It is not acceptable such a rude behaviour towards the clients.

cute hotel

It's a cute hotel very close to S-Bahn and to Schoenefeld airport but bit far from the city. Just the owner speaks a basic english and be ready to speak in german... anyway staff is very friendly and rooms are clean but no elevator and 2 steep stairs so be aware of this, overall a good experience

Excellent stay while visiting Berlin

When I was looking for a place to stay while we were touring Berlin, I ran across this bar/restaurant/b&b, located only steps away from the S-Bahn to downtown Berlin. The cost was around 68E, which was paid in cash. If you decide to stay here, make sure you have enough Euros on hand. Breakfast was wonderful, and the ambiance was lovely, served in the dining room. There is a slight winding staircase to get up to the rooms, and I have a little problem with stairs, but it was fine for me, as I took my time to the next floor. The room is clean and adequate with tv and internet. The cute little bar downstairs is adorable, and does well with locals at happy hour. We enjoyed our little appertifs ourselves, actually a glass of wine. Our car during our stay was parked in the back of the building, very safe and secure at no cost. The neighborhood is very friendly and safe as well. Right around the corner, is the train to downtown, and a few stores and restaurants, busy little area, but the hotel is quiet for sleeping. For the convenience, cost, and cleanliness, I would highly recommend Hotel Kryom's 108 when visiting Berlin. Don't expect the Ritz, but for me, as long as it is clean, in good condition, and I receive good service for a wonderful price, this is my choice of stay for a night or two. The owners are very nice, and accommodating. I would definitely stay again when in the area.
