Location top, but overall air up.
The staff is friendly and especially noteworthy is the more than rich breakfast that really leaves nothing to be desired. Also the supply with strong and fast Wi-Fi is given in the rooms.
Unfortunately, the hotel is very old. The carpet in the room is stained and therefore appears unclean. The furniture looks dusty. Whether a bathtub is good or bad is a matter of taste, I personally do not like the stunt when getting in and out. For a bottle of basic mineral water in the room, €4.50 is due. A service that is free in most hotels.
In summary, the Albrechtshof is ok but not my favorite hotel in Berlin. There is an abundance of need for remediation.

Broken doorknobs + mold
I paid for breakfast and booked well in advance. When I checked in, I was told I hadn’t purchased breakfast. I wasted two days not going to breakfast because of this.
The first room I checked into had black mold in the shower. The carpet in the room was stained and had not been vacuumed. Additionally, the hallways had stained carpets. The cleaning staff only seemed to make the bed and replace the towels; they did not clean the toilet, shower, floors, or sink. I filed a complaint, but unfortunately, nothing improved.
I told them about the mold, and they said they needed to send maintenance to fix it, which could take a couple of days, so we moved rooms, which I appreciate. The lady at the front desk was very kind and helped me move in my stuff.
In the new room, the maid started cleaning the bathroom (toilet, sink, floor, shower), but the bedroom floor was still dirty. It's like you need to bring a dustpan to stay here. She also did not throw out the food wrapper trash we left in our room, which was separate from the trash can she did take.
The door handles are broken, and the door does not shut properly, so it’s important to double-check. I believe the numerous mentions of theft in the reviews stem from this issue. Additionally, opening the door is difficult because the handles are broken, which is extremely frustrating. They explained to me that it is an old building, but that is not a valid excuse. This situation poses a safety hazard. I'm very grateful I have a friend in Germany who could stay with me, but if I were a solo traveler, I would not feel safe here. They need to replace the doorknobs.
I did not have a problem with smell in the rooms, but if your room faces the courtyard or the street and you leave your window open, the cigarette smell will obviously come in. Both rooms (one facing the street, one facing the courtyard) were quiet.
If you wanted to use the fridge, you can't. They fill up the mini fridge with things like nuts/soda which you have to pay for. They leave a tray of still / sparkling water that costs about 5 euros each, which is outrageous when there is an Aldi, not even a 10-minute walk away, with the same size water for 1.50 euros. It also takes up a lot of space on the desk. The Wi-Fi stops working around 10 pm; if you need it past then, good luck.
This was all like 1200 dollars.
I will not be back here. I wish I booked a different hotel.
