A/C turned off - must open window for air & hear noisy trains & cars; Inconsiderate bathroom layout, half-shower door;

- Overall, I'd say the designers of this hotel are somewhat thoughtless & inconsiderate - and ignore comforts that should be in every hotel;
- Small, cramped room w/ minimal surface/Table area to work with, probably typical in a city.
- Strange art on wall, kind of creepy, and right above the bed. See picture.
- Bathroom has half-shower door. Why the H do hotel designers think half-shower door is cool? It is NOT! Water gets on the floor, and cold draft comes into your hot shower. Suks!;
- Bathroom Door auto swings closed causing steam build-up, must prop it open to get ventilation and clear the steam;
- Bathroom has Small, weirdly place bar to hang hand towel, below sink, risk of falling onto floor;
- AC is turned off by maintenance - must open windows & hear road & train noise - if you want some cool air or ventilation;
- No liners in trash cans which is highly disgusting!
- One English channel out of a huge list of German channels - inconsiderate!

We are sorry to hear that the design of your room, and particularly the bathroom, did not meet your expectations. We understand that the furnishings and comfort are of great significance, and we will take your comments regarding the shower partition and room layout into account. Regarding the air conditioning, we would like to clarify that it is controlled seasonally for energy efficiency reasons. We recommend our guests to open the windows when necessary to receive fresh air, even though this may occasionally lead to outside noise. Your comments regarding the waste bins and television selection will also be discussed internally to explore possible improvements.

Solid hotel quality in a central Berlin location with very friendly staff

Opened in 2007, the hotel has around 225 rooms spread over seven floors and is located right next to the Theater des Westens – culture within earshot (at least in theory).
The location is simply top: a few steps to Kurfürstendamm, the train station Zoo practically around the corner.
If you arrive by car, you will be delighted with the parking garage directly at the hotel – big city stress adé.
Already at check-in it becomes clear: Kindness is very important here.
All staff were extremely warm, attentive and pleasantly unexcited – just as you would wish.
Our room was very clean, functionally decorated and offered a comfortable bed. Wi-Fi is available free of charge throughout the house, without a password.
Our room was on the 2nd floor. Floor directly on the railway tracks. Train noise is clearly perceptible despite the presence of sound insulation. For guests with light sleep, this room location is not recommended. A quieter room location should be explicitly requested.
The One Lounge on the ground floor is a lobby, breakfast area and bar in one – and that’s around the clock. Breakfast is solid and makes a good start to the day, the bar scores with a wide selection of drinks, small snacks and very friendly staff – perfect for late sagging or early coffee.
A real extra: You can also use your hotel card to visit the rooftop bar at Motel One Berlin-Upper West, only about 100 metres away. The view from the 10. Floor is definitely a highlight and makes the stay even a little bit more special.

Breakfast was good - not outstanding. Unfortunately, our rooms were smelly, so we needed to air it out two times a day.
Service was friendly and the location was very good!
