Repeat offenders
We stayed at the hotel again after many years, and were not disappointed again. The highlight is undoubtedly the food. This applies to both the restaurant and the gourmet restaurant "Esskultur". If you are a guest in the hotel, you should not miss the pleasure in the food culture!!!

The friendliest is the maid!
The great time of the Schwingshackl family is unfortunately over, after extremely positive experiences on Lake Tegernsee so to say, as in Bad Tölz, the Naturhotel Rebling is a run-down project that is skimped on everywhere, even in the friendliness.
The heating in the rooms is lukewarm, the light in the rooms is not enough for reading and disposable bathing shoes are charged.
You can then pay almost 170 € per night for this.
After all, the room service is thorough and very friendly, which you can not say of the boss.
We will definitely not come back!

The numerous positive reviews motivated me to spontaneously spend a few days at the Naturhotel Rebling near Bernried in the Bavarian Forest. I have been traveling a lot for work and am now in hotels a lot to combine wellness with exercise.
Highlights are certainly the beautiful wellness area with natural bathing lake and the very well-kept restaurant with outdoor terrace and in fine weather wonderful views of the Danube plain.
My experiences:
Culinary: I once ate at the restaurant, partly because of the excellent reviews. Baked chicken with potato salad, which tasted really good. Unfortunately, the portion was very small (but the price was relatively high), rather a greeting from the kitchen. I've been to other restaurants in the area eating on it.
The wellness area: The closing/locking of the doors (sauna, outdoor area etc.) was extremely noisy, so relaxing was a bit tedious. Unfortunately, no (liquid) soap could be found in the wellness area. Also present guests could not help me here. The reception was not busy and I didn't want to go to the restaurant in my bathrobe. Because of the winding construction and the numerous steps, you think twice whether you go from your own room (at the level of the parking lot) to the reception. I helped myself by dosing soap from the toilet (outside the wellness area) into my hand.
Rooms: My large room was in the old building, a bit old but clean.
Breakfast buffet: unfortunately without charm, monotonous, too little for a wellness/vital hotel with the claim to fine cuisine. See topic Coffee (below). Besides, there was hardly any follow-up.
Other: You can't go hiking or stretch your legs directly from the hotel, but you have to start by car.
Resume: I had the feeling that you were very tense on site, so I did not feel particularly comfortable. The reception and also otherwise the Service (except one lady from the Service) was not particularly friendly. I was not asked on departure if I would have liked it in the house (which is quite common in other houses) and has taken my suggestions regarding missing soap in the wellness area and breakfast (coffee from the vending machine often only lukewarm and watery) only “noted”. For example, I would be happy if such suggestions came so that I can quickly correct errors.
Repetition factor: Unfortunately not given to me. It's a shame.

An all-round dreamlike getaway, friendly hosts, nature and culinary delights
Are there any coincidences? If so, we are grateful to have found this great house on Booking. Here we noticed the quiet location, the natural pond and the wellness area. What we didn’t know at that time was that we still get a really outstanding top gastronomy on top here. We had a standard room in the main house all top clean with small balcony and view of the animal enclosure. The wellness area is very harmonious, beautiful and tastefully decorated, we also used the offer of massages and were very satisfied. The natural pond is a dream with beautiful moorings.
Now for the absolute treat, the Schwinghackl gourmet cuisine. It’s not like you haven’t eaten everything before, but here everything we knew before was surpassed visually and taste-wise. We were still allowed to enjoy the whole thing on a beautiful sun terrace with fantastic views. Thanks to the couple Schwinghackl (with team) cuisine, service and wine advice were excellent. We would definitely love to come back!

We were more than satisfied, the stay super pleasant!
The hotel room was very clean.
Unfortunately, the mattresses are a bit too soft (but that is a matter of taste and does not diminish our positive impression). The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating. The dinner (5-course menu) was really good and the portions more than sufficient. The breakfast buffet was adequate, and wishes were fulfilled for egg dishes for breakfast (scrambled eggs with bacon, soft breakfast eggs, fried eggs...).
The spa is very clean and you can relax well. The pond brings you the necessary cooling! The hotel is nicely located, you can go straight out the front door to start hikes.
