Hotel worth the climb in Bielefeld

Really beautiful location in the forest above Bielefeld . Only down side is the hard climb up to the hotel from the city on your bicycle but the climb was worth it .
Very helpful and friendly reception and very good inside bike storage .
Elevator to room 312 which was bright , cheery and very clean . The best lighting that we have encountered in a hotel in a long time . Bathroom very spacious and clean . Very nice shower .
Comfortable bed . On site restaurant had limited menu but the price point was reasonable and the available choices were good . WiFi seemed excellent.
Very good breakfast with hot and cold choices .

Not recommended, better find something near town centre or other in next town

We have stayed in this hotel for one night (fortunately), location is very remote. Rooms are gently said basic (at max). Value of the stay average. Atmosphere and service is below average - we have asked for table at the local restaurant and we have been send away due to lack of available table (place was almost empty). room was clean.

No staff 1 day a week!!

We arrived 1 night from Tuesday to Wednesday after a walk of 19 km (Hermannsweg). We were told that on Tuesday the restaurant would be closed. Okay, but that this meant getting an unfriendly reception plus not getting a cup of coffee or tea, let alone a drink. The desk madam replied curtly that we had been informed. That the restaurant was closed, that is possible, too bad but is no different. But the fact that there is no coffee or tea or drink to be had in such a hotel is very strange. We should probably look further down the road. You don't do that if you just walked 19 km, so no car at hand and the first restaurant is 2.5 km away. No concept whatsoever. Apart from the welcome committee, it is special that such a hotel is completely empty in terms of service. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful. But pay attention when you book and check the website when they completely close the hotel in terms of staff. Too bad this is happening. Never experienced that there is nothing to get in the whole hotel.

Great!

We stayed one night at the hotel because we were at a concert in Bielefeld. We loved the hotel: Rooms very bright and nicely decorated, restaurant: Lunch, coffee and breakfast very delicious, kindness of the staff.

Really nice place

We had a single night stay on the way further south and it was a really good experience. The hotel is located in the middle of the most beautiful nature, with the possibility of walks. The place invites to tranquility.
Clean and nice, with everything you need. Very good restaurant, where we had nice food on a beautiful terrace. Breakfast was super good, delicious and hygienically prepared.
We'd love to come back another time.
