A missed opportunity for a top experience!

Nice location! A great hotel with very friendly staff.
Still mention a minus: It was fairly hot weather and there was no air conditioning in our room, just a fan. I don't know any other rooms.
Especially at night that was a lesser experience.
Restaurant and terrace on the Rhine very nice, tasty and friendly service.

Very good lunch and dinner, but a very poor breakfast.

Review – Bellevue Rheinhotel
We spent one night at the Bellevue Rheinhotel as a stopover. We were already aware at the time of booking that the hotel follows a consistently maintained style from the 1950s. This taste is, of course, subjective, but it is authentically and consistently implemented. Since this is clearly communicated on the relevant portals and the website, one should not raise this as a point of criticism.
The cleanliness of the entire hotel and the culinary offerings are particularly noteworthy. During our stay, we were able to enjoy lunch, dinner, and breakfast. The lunch in the garden restaurant was impressive, as was the service, due to its quality and friendliness.
The dinner in the specialty restaurant was even outstanding and approached a Michelin star level for us. We were particularly impressed by a young Moroccan server who was excellently informed about both the wines and the dishes. His recommendations, expertise, and pleasant demeanor significantly enriched our evening.
The reception area was less convincing. During our stay, it appeared that mostly trainees or very inexperienced staff were employed there. Everyone was friendly and eager, but there was a lack of professional competence and confidence. The reception is particularly the business card of a hotel and should be staffed accordingly and professionally.
However, the biggest point of criticism was the breakfast. When we entered the breakfast room around 9 AM, many platters were already cleared, many tables were not reset, and some were dirty. Staff shortages may explain a lot, but it seems unconvincing when employees are standing behind the buffet without addressing the obvious deficiencies in the dining area.
One can clearly feel that the owners place great value on cleanliness, quality, and good gastronomy – and they succeed very well in these areas. However, not everything can be excused by staff shortages. Better training, leadership, and discipline of the staff, especially in the reception and breakfast areas, are urgently needed. For even the best food and the best intentions can only partially compensate for deficiencies in service.
Conclusion: Very good hotel with excellent gastronomy and high cleanliness, but with significant room for improvement in reception and breakfast service. Overall 3 out of 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

Very disappointing for a **** superior hotel, for which we paid € 262,-

Just as the check-in we were suddenly allocated another room (without explanation) five high at the rear of the hotel. That didn't feel right. The next morning breakfast was terrible. All tables were occupied or full of used dishes. Some shoved him and then we could sit. We waited 15 minutes for cutlery. Coffee came out of a jug one was limp, lukewarm and old.

Dissapointing experience

I appreciate that this is a historic hotel in a smaller town, and I wasn’t expecting the experience of a large city hotel. However, for a 4-star property, certain standards should still be expected.
The views of the Rhine and the authentic character of the hotel are outstanding. Unfortunately, the guest experience did not match the setting. The lack of air conditioning made the room extremely uncomfortable during the night … When it is 38 degrees outside and no a/c why don’t you communicate it during the booking process or what are you doing to
make up for it? Also amenities felt outdated…Non existent bathroom amenities, with only a wall-mounted shampoo dispenser and no basic items such as a toothbrush. It was also surprising to see so much printed collateral which most hotels have replaced after Covid..Nice try for turn down amenity, but it was completely melted on the bed on the arrival.
At dinner, our order was misplaced—which can happen anywhere. What was disappointing was seeing guests leave without a simple farewell or any visible management presence. Sometimes, these small gestures define true hospitality.
A beautiful property with great potential, but one that currently falls short of the expectations of a 4-star hotel.

Happy days on the Rhine

Nice hotel on the water with large terrace. Friendly staff, friendly staff. Delicious fresh breakfast. Canal boat at the door. Downtown.
What less is it that there is no airo in the rooms. Window open gives a lot of noise from passing freight trains. 6 a7 an hour at night.
Sometimes the party boat is in front of the hotel and staff can also make a lot of noise. So bring earplugs.
