A great find

This hotel was a delight. The room was spacious, very clean, beds were very comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant is excellent, both breakfast and dinner. Bus stop stop directly outside of hotel. Dachau is a delightful town, many small shops. Definitely worth a visit. Olive and Marian

Stay somewhere else unless you want to be yelled at

It’s a shame that they keep this beautiful old house in such poor condition. The rooms are dated and it looks like the found the sofa at a flea market.
But the worst thing was the rude personnel. Our room was only made up for one person when we arrived. I immediately went down to the reception and asked for another set of bedding and towels. Half an hour later nothing had happened so I went down again to ask the receptionist who was on the phone in personal calls and I was addressed with “but you’re not going to sleep now anyway”. And I said in fact I had planned to take a nap and a shower after my long trip please and thank you. The receptionist then brought the bedding and continued to scold me and call me rude. This is not how you treat a guest at your hotel. One of the worst services I’ve received in Germany.

Another Great Lunch

A year or so ago I dined at this restaurant and the food was so good that I returned with a colleague earlier this month for lunch. We dined at one of the outside tables and we each had couple of beers and the Cordon Bleu vom Schwein mit Schinken und Käse (Cordon Bleu of pork with ham and cheese); this meal was served with fried potatoes and a fresh mixed salad. The weather was perfect for outside dining and the food and service were wonderful. This restaurant is located in the center of Dachau next to the Rathaus.

A lovely lunch in a beautiful setting

In the very heart of the old town of Dachau, on the hill next to the castle, the Altstadthotel is first of all a hotel, of course (I will certainly try it one day!), but we went there just for lunch. In a beautiful Bavarian-style room, with warm panelling and decorations, we had a simple but delicious lunch - and good beer. the service was friendly and warm, the price very low. Fantastic!

Picturesque Old City

The Zieglerbrau is a comfortable, well appointed 12 room hotel with full Bavarian flavor, an excellent restaurant ( breakfast is included in the room rate and has both an American and German style offerings) and is centrally located in the old part of town. There are interesting shops, restaurants, museums, a beautiful garden and viewing area to see the Alps and Munich skyline to wander through. The Memorial to the Dachau concentration camp is easily accessible by public transportation as is the city of Munich. A very walk -able part of the city.
