To recommend

A beautiful hotel, in a lovely location, really big, comfortable rooms, a very good breakfast. A family-run hotel, you feel at home there.
Personal requests are gladly accommodated.

Delightful stay

We stayed here for 4 nights and had a lovely break. Frank was most welcoming and helpful with recommendations of where to eat and visit, the room with a balcony was spacious and the breakfast superb. Parking wasn't an issue. We were blessed with great weather.

Lovely

Tugged away in the beautiful, secluded Dernbach Tal this family-run hotel provide impeccably clean, comfortable and spacious rooms with a kitchenette (range, refrigerator), good size bathroom in an scenic environment. The nights are dark and absolutely quiet. The hotel and rooms are designed in a quasi-Bavarian style, the impression is cute. The breakfast buffet is very good, the reception is friendly and helpful. The hotel is recommended also as a stop-over for hikers exploring the 170 kilometer long 'Pfaelzer Weinsteig' and for guests eating dinner at the local very good restaurant 'Schneider'. Ample parking. Give the hotel a call in case you arrive later than 6:00 p.m. since the reception desk is not staffed after that time.

Well-kept alpine-style hotel

We spent one night at the Hotel Dernbachtal in July. This family-run hotel is beautifully kept up and has unexpected amenities, such as the large suite-like rooms and the in-room kitchen facilities. The rooms are unusually well stocked with supplies (toiletries, extra blanket, etc.) for a reasonably priced hotel, and the location is peaceful and scenic. The breakfast buffet was the best we had during our trip, with a full range of sweet and savory offerings. The best thing of all was the friendly and kind owners, who go out of their way to be gracious and helpful hosts (and speak very good English, as well).
The night we stayed the restaurant was closed, so if you are hoping to eat at the hotel's restaurant Schneider (which we understand is a great thing to do) you should plan better than we did. The hosts directed us to a restaurant in a nearby town Das Esszimmer in Hainfeld), which was wonderful - so we had a great experience; we just had to take a bit of a drive.

Delightful hotel in beautiful surroundings

I booked this hotel on the last minute due to my business travel arrangements being changed and what a pleasant surprise I got. First of all, the surroundings of the hotel are beautiful and it is very serene. The hotel is fairly small, which means you get a personal service and the owner couldn't have been more attentive and helpful. My room was on the ground floor and had a nice bathroom, terraced area, lounge & bedroom area as well as a kitchenette. There was plenty of space and it was great to relax in. There was a mini bar and complimentary water. There is also a sauna, though I didn't use it. Breakfast was varied and tasty and the personal service continued, with eggs cooked to order. Unfortunately for me, the restaurant was closed (Tues), but the owner told me about alternatives in the area. I walked to the next village, Ramberg, where I found a lovely place to eat called "Zum goldenen Lamm" (I've reviewed this place separately). The walk to Ramberg took only 10 minutes and was along a picturesque footpath, surrounded by nature (horses, sheep, etc). One thing to note is that the hotel doesn't accept credit cards, so make sure you have the cash with you. I ended up at this place by chance and will be seeking it out next time I'm in the area. My only regret is that I didn't have more time to spend there!
