wonderful experience

We stayed as overnight guests for an extended weekend at Ganerb. Can't understand the bad reviews here at all. The room was large and meticulously clean. The staff and the boss are extraordinarily friendly. The food tasted good and the portions were more than sufficient. Breakfast was served at the table, but this did not deter us. There was nothing missing.
If you are looking for peace and quiet at night, this is the right place. It is normal that the volume at a forest inn is higher because of guests and children. Especially since there is a large hiking area and a large playground nearby.
We certainly felt at ease there. Even without chi-chi.

NOT TO BELIEVE!!!!

We really haven't experienced anything like this.
At 9pm sharp (opening time according to the sign on the door until 10pm), the broken German-speaking staff came to the table: CLOSE, GO, CLOSED!!!!
We had some more wine in the glasses and we appeased: OK, we drink and go.
2 minutes later the same thing but in the most violent form:
END, OUT!!
She ripped the door open and again: OUT!!
And then there's: I CALL POLICE!!!
I can well imagine that some who read these lines cannot believe it.
We couldn't believe it either!!!
Really not recommended. No, THANK YOU!!!

Cheap-looking pub

There were eight of us there. The service was friendly, but the sparkling wine warm, the food bland and tasteless - and afterwards our clothes stank of old kitchen fat. The whole thing has the charm of a 70s suburban pub. We're not going there anymore.

Very nice Gasthof in a quiet forest setting

We visited this gasthof on an overnight stop to Sinsheim and Speyer. A clean small hotel with a lovely Biergarten and a varied menu. Great quiet setting if you don't like the noise of the cities.. The owner was quite helpful, the kitchen very good !

Unfreundlicher Balkanflair

Nach keinen 5 Minuten haben wir den Biergarten wieder verlassen, da die "wohlgelaunte" Chefin uns SEHR freundlich gebeten hat den Tisch wieder zu verlassen, welcher uns vorher durch den Kellner zugewiesen wurde. Einige Tische waren frei verfügbar laut Kellner - aber die Eigentümerin hat scheinbar den Schuss nicht gehört das Freundlichkeit auch nach Corona hilfreich ist ! Was uns beeindruckt hat beim verlassen waren doch die vielen Geschmacksverstärker in den Scheiben der Küche
