Fantastic cozy little quiet family guesthouse, which we would both recommend and would like to return whenever possible

Lovely cozy quiet little family guesthouse, which we would recommend and will definitely return to when possible. A good starting point for us who had racing bikes with us, which we can definitely recommend - we had many trips‍♂️‍♀️

Lovely river views

This hotel has rooms which all have a view of the River Mosel - though one of the suites view is via the terrace at the side rather than from the room itself. There are two roomy suites with coffee making machines and all the rooms have balconies/a terrace, where you can sit outside to enjoy the view. Rooms are all en suite and the hotel is clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was good, featuring fresh fruit as well as the usual offerings of cold meat, cheeses, breads, pastries, boiled eggs etc. The hosts speak very good English and were very helpful. Food is sold at the hotel on some nights (not all nights), they did lovely Flamkuchen. Their own wine is also very good, each room came with a complimentary bottle when we stayed. We made use of the free local bus pass to go into Cochem on the bus (there is a stop down the road) and enjoy the wine festival. There are also two nice restaurants and a cafe in easy walking distance. Parking is available on site, though it's a bit tight if the hotel is full. If you are very sensitive about noise or like to go to bed early, it would be best to avoid the rooms closest to the seating area in the courtyard, as there can be guests eating/drinking there and the noise of laughter etc does carry.

Group stay

We had a wonderful week here. We were a large group of 21 friends, staying at the property. A suberb breakfast, with local produce and had variations every day. The on site restaurant meant you didn't have to leave to eat in the evenings, but there are plenty of alternatives within walking distance, if preferred.
The property was very clean, comfortable beds and all rooms appeared to have new , spacious shower rooms, beds were made, towels changed, daily. Rooms either had a kettle, with coffee etc supplied, some rooms also had fridges and coffee machines. On arrival, there was a bottle of wine, from their own vineyard, waiting in each the rooms. All rooms opened onto terraces, where you could sit at the supplied table and chairs to relax and watch the river.
Ute and her family were very helpful, spoke excellent English, suggesting places to visit and arranged a bbq for us, at the property, during our stay. There is parking for several cars on site - we were able to squeeze in 14 motorbikes.
We could not fault our stay and all of the group said they would be very happy to stay there again.

Outdated, smelly and messy surrondigs. Sad place.

We were greated by broken flower pots, scruffy outdoor equipment and a messy garden. The hall has a distinguished old smell, and was not clean at all.
The beds were good, and the rooms were relativly clean.
It was said to be allergy friendly. NOT so. There were both cat and a dog in the breakfast area.
The staff wouldn,t even offer us a 'good morning'.
All in all, we will not return. How this is rated so high, is beond my understanding.

The Schneider family makes this place a great homebase to explore the lovely Mosel Valley

The Schneider family were extremely helpful during our stay. They called ahead for reservations and recommended restaurants, walks, and sights. The rooms are a little dated, but clean and pretty standard for "Weingut" type B&Bs. The breakfast was good and the fact that you could help yourself to wine and beer (leaving a hash mark and paying at the end) was super handy.
