I think ... we will come back:-)
Since my wife and friends used to stay here for skiing a lot in the 70s and 80s and we stopped for dinner from the 90s onwards, we decided to book the beautiful Black Forest hotel for a short break of 3 nights. However, the rooms facing Bundesstraße 317 are too noisy from morning at 4 to night at 12. Here I recommend the hotel to install air conditioning so that you can keep the windows closed on warm days. The rooms facing Talstraße are probably quieter. The hotel and especially the restaurant exudes a wonderful atmosphere and you feel at ease. This praise also belongs to the Servive and the very nice contact with host Mr. Johann You. On two evenings we went to dinner in the restaurant where we enjoyed it very much. The appetizers and the desserts I want to especially praise. We were not 100% convinced about the main courses. One more thing: The booking via the great homepage and everything around it was first class !!

good decision
Where to start - the great location, the stunning view of Lake Titisee, the ingenious kitchen ... friendly staff, a dream couple with adorable toddlers as owner family, the offspring already in the playpen at the reception.. we were there in the fall of 2024, weather great, the Feldberg just behind the house. Actually, you don't need the car, the highest German train station is only a few minutes walk away. We will come back again! Only once for dinner it is too far, at least three days you have to be pampered there.

Family Run Traditional Black Forest lodge with upgraded modern comforts
Beautiful blend of traditional German hotel with very modern updates. Some how blended perfectly like still seeing the old wooden beams of the building but having a wonderful rain shower in the bathroom. Our room was so comfortable after a long day of travel had two chairs to sit in a nice bed and a place for everything. Thought the coal hooks near the door and the boot racks and large towel warmers were a very thoughtful touch. The bench at the end of the bed was also great to put luggage on or put your boots on or prep you next day outfit. Also had a nice desk and decent WiFi if work needed to be done. Could not hear any of the other guest from our room. The most important thing to me is a clean room and it was so clean everywhere! Towels and sheets perfectly white and soft, hardwood floors and rugs excellent. Really one of the cleanest places I have ever been. The most amazing thing about the place were the people the couple who run the hotel were lovely and always helpful in a genuine way. They also had their children with them at times which was so lovely. Would so recommend the experience so few family run hotels left and none that make such a warm and welcoming stay. Hope to go back someday!

Class hotel
We stayed at the Adler over New Year's Eve. The hotel is well located with a view towards Lake Titisee. The train and bus are within walking distance. It is just as suitable as a starting point for skiing or hiking on the Feldberg as it is for trips to the surrounding lakes or to Freiburg. The rooms are pleasant. With half board, you are spoiled with varied and excellent menus. The staff and the bosses are extremely friendly. We can recommend the hotel without reservation.

Our room was functional but not very nicely furnished and therefore didn't invite to stay.
Our room was very noisy and you could hear every step above us, even at night! It's not very guest oriented that we always have to sit at the same designated table in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner and are not allowed to change, even we asked several times! Delicious dinner! Free parking. Ideal starting point for hikes and bike tours. Bus stop about 300m away.
