very friendly!

Close to Messe Frankfurt, nice for business trip (especially for visiting fairs), simple rooms, nothing special about breakfast, but such friendly Mrs Rosa and might be her husband makes it a very nice choice for this money! Good luck!
PS were some problems with wifi

Terrible hotel that doesn't honour the price you booked at

I booked this hotel for 2 rooms x 7 nights during February and received a confirmation email at 67.50 euros per room per night, total 945 euros, the rate is guaranteed etc etc
Some hours later I received an email saying that my reservation had been due to a problem with my credit card (which has no problem, and plenty of space on it).
I checked online, and the same 2 rooms were available at the same price, so I simply rebooked the reservation, this time using a different card. The next day, another cancellation email.
Repeat process - checked availability, rooms available at same price, so booked again, this time using a DEBIT card. And then the next day received a 3rd cancellation email stating exactly the same reasons, even though it was a debit card
I therefore made the same booking a FOURTH time, and at the same time called the booking site I had used, who got in touch with the hotel......who then replied that they wanted to increase the room price, because there was a trade fair happening during that week, and that a "manager" would be along in an hour or so and would relist the rooms at a much higher price. This is after my 3rd booking with them being live for 3 days (a Monday to a Wednesday - so no possible excuse that it was a weekend and the manager didn't work then).
The 4th booking was of course cancelled by the hotel stating the same "problem with your credit card" reason, and then the rooms were relisted at over 200 euros per night per room.
Utterly dishonourable and dishonest hotel. Be very very careful of booking it. Frankfurt has hundreds of other hotels, and at 200 euros a night for this 3* place you would be well advised to spend that amount of money on somewhere much much nicer.

Cute!

Traveled to Frankfurt for a fair, and this was the best priced hotel around the main train station and best looking photos.
That said, it is somewhat smaller and cozier hotel than it looks. The rooms were spacious enough for two, clean but slightly dated, opted not to have the breakfast, as usually you get a better deal in a shop.
The only real issue was that we were not informed of the late night protocol for entering the hotel. During the day, we entered through the bar, but at night it is locked. There is no sign that mentioned to use the other door a few feet away. While trying to unlock it with the room key, I believe the night custodian heard us and opened the door. He informed us that there is a doorbell for entry after hours, so that issue was taken care of.
This is definitely some sort of family run hotel, and it would be unfair to compare it too the big boys in town. It's conveniently located, inexpensive and clean.

Comfortable basic stay, reasonable rates, nice staff, BUT booking organisation a #megafail

The hotel room (single) was accurately described, comfortable and in a good location. The room was clean, serviced daily and suited the needs for my travels. I had one major problem with the hotel however - it was so hard to pay for the room that we nearly had to leave without paying! More detail if you enjoy reading rants on that below. Otherwise I suggest stopping after reading the key features:
Positives:
- Friendly staff
- Good last minute booking rate
- Great location near Frankfurt Hbf.
- Room had lovely big windows that opened up wide.
Improvement opportunities:
- Wi-fi not fast, and often dropping in and out
- Some of the light globes were blown making the bathroom dark
- Had to take heavy bags up a flight of stairs as lift didn't stop at room levels
- Front door locked before 6pm and key doesn't open - need to enter through bar.
My first online rant on Trip Advisor:
Checking in: I had booked two single rooms for myself and a friend for one night. When we arrived, after having to wait about 5 minutes for the doorbell to be answered at 8pm, we were told we had one single room for 2 nights.
The lady at reception seemed shocked and once shown the online confirmation, was able to arrange two single rooms for the night. It appears the error happened when transcribing onto what were archaic old paper forms for checking in.
We extended our stay by a night, which was really easy to organise with the manager at reception the next morning. The problem started when we tried to pay for the room.
Checking out: We were leaving on a 5am train the next morning, so tried to settle our account the night before. At 6pm we were told to return to reception at 8pm to pay. At 8pm we were told to come to reception after 11pm. My friend wasn't pleased and went to bed - we had an early wake up call. Worried we'd end up not paying, I waited up until 11pm, where I had to wait about 25 minutes at reception until the manager (after he had been phoned to hurry up by the lady at reception) arrived and was able to quite efficiently process payment for both rooms. I was rather displeased however that I wasn't going to get a good sleep with a wake-up time 4 hours later.
At all stages staff, who spoke little English - which isn't a criticism, I speak little German - were apologetic, and tried to explain that they weren't able to take payments, only the manager can take payments. To me this was a ridiculous system.
I don't think it is unreasonable that a reception desk at a hotel can take credit card payments the evening before checking out- especially before 7pm/8pm. While each staff member was nice, the problem is the routines didn't give any ability for the majority of staff to process card payment - only the manager, who apparently runs multiple hotels. Similarly, online booking site only allowed us to book, rather than prepay the room.
While early check-outs mustn't be a frequent event here, this surprised me for a hotel so close to the Frankfurt Hbf and airport train link. I understand this seemed to be a family hotel or small business and not a big hotel - I imagine bookings done well in advance with a morning check-out wouldn't be an issue.
My other gripe was that my room smelled of cigarette smoke upon check-in, however the lovely big windows meant that I was able to air the room and the smell disappeared reasonably quickly.

Really enjoyed the stay here. Very friendly staff. Nice, though small rooms. Very clean and well looked after. Good TV, free wifi. Literally faces the train station. Would definately recommend for someone looking for something well priced and simple. Great service.
