During my stay of 5 nts it was 36C and my room was 30C, the fan made little difference so would not stay here again in August.
Great location opposite the train station for travels and cheap eats.
Room servicing very poor, my hand soap and shower get were empty for 3 days -the curtain was off the rod also - pointed this all out to housekeeping staff and they just shrugged.
It is good value for money except in the extreme heat.

Hotel Monopol Frankfurt

The Monopol hotel was an extremely bad experience! The room was clean when I arrived for a 3 night stay, each day the new towels were supplied but room was not cleaned! There was a bar but no bartender, never open! The breakfast was very basic food and Luke warm!
Worst of all the hotel is near a nightclub that blasts out loud music until 3am, impossible to sleep!
All in all I was glad to leave!

Dirty, old, very bad smell

There is not AC. Rooms, corridors, lobby everywhere very dirty. For me this property is not for selling rooms!

HOT

The hotel is situated near to the central station.
The rooms have no air con and get so hot it’s uninhabitable even with fans which simply blow the hot air at you - avoid at all cost if the weather is warm.
Breakfast is very good.

It's close to the station and the building is old, but the contents are good.

I was a bit anxious because the stairs were dim, but it was nice to have a drink in my room with a minibar. It's nice to have WELCOME champagne (they say you can drink in your room).
In Germany, there were many places that were not in the room, but this one was also good to have shampoos (and L'Occitane).
Breakfast was also pretty good, with a good selection of ham and cheese. Bread was also tasty in Germany, where many were hard.
