Good location with nice view from the balcony

Very friendly and helpfull staff. Nice breakfast with by the owner baked Torte.
Location quiet with a nice view. Room very clean and convenient. By car in seven minutes to the city centre of Freudenstadt with several good restaurants and nice walks at the very large Marktplatz with beautiful flowers and fountain.

Nice, clean but noisy if you need an open window in summer

Very friendly staff (owners?), breakfast was good. We had a 2nd floor room so be prepared to carry your suitcase up two floors. Our room (front of the hotel) faced a very busy main road (across a field and the road was about 150m away) so it was noisy all night due to the fact that it was so hot and we had to have the windows open.
The wifi in our room was so weak we could not really use it. The lady said that the repeater may have been faulty (not sure about that ) however no wifi for one night is not the end of the world.

Nice little hotel

Excellent hotel in the black forest, nice very clean rooms, staff were very friendly, and close to forest trails. Everyone spoke English, those who didn't did every effort to assist in a way or another.

Good.. almost great but not quite

We stayed 4 nights in December 2014. The room wasn't huge but was adequate size and had an excellent balcony overlooking the black forest.
The bed was average. Small with old mattresses and awful pillows. The room smelled quite strange but was kept clean for us. The staff were very friendly amd helpful and seemed like very nice people.
Just a tip, no one really speaks much English in Lauterbad. There are a couple of people that we met who spoke decent English but some German will help you to not get lost on the incredible walking trails.

Winter playground

7 Dec 2010: Our stay here was most enjoyable. Breathtaking views from the room, clean comfortable rooms, and very friendly staff all contributed to making our stay memorable. Highly recommended as a place to stay. Would be an ideal place to stay for a ski trip.
