Lovely boutique hotel… bring your own kettle (and something that can hold hot water) if you must need your evening tea
I was about to give a five star rating because of the fantastic location and the fantastic people running this boutique hotel. It is close to all the touristy stuff (restaurants, cafes, shops, rides, even a convenience store next door). It gives free parking (enter BEFORE reaching the hotel itself; its entrance is flanked by two large flags). The husband and wife are such lovely folks - the wife was running the reception and she gave us great advice on what to do. You can even buy your “ring tour” tickets here! Her husband was also very kind - he saw on our second evening that we didn’t have any more parking lot, he specially went back to get his car keys to move it out of the way, and then helped directed our parking! A nice breakfast awaits you in their little restaurant with tables pre-set for us already.
As for the room, the air-conditioning is strong!! (The best air-con we have had in our two-week Europe tour in summer haha).
Now, I need to be objective and tell you why it’s four stars:
(1). there is no kettle in the room. I really, really, thought it is a basic amenity even for a three-star hotel…
(2). The one bottle of water was not refilled when the room was cleaned. Seriously, it isn’t that expensive, is it? …. Imagine if i had stayed for one night, and the next customer stayed in the same room for the next night, then there would be a total of two bottles being given out, yes?? Then why can’t i have two bottles for two nights’ stay… it baffles me. Then we tried to rationalize amongst ourselves and said perhaps its just tap water, what’s the big deal? PRECISELY THAT. If it’s just tap water, why can’t they just give us a nice new bottle of tap water……….
Anyways, if i happen to return to Rudesheim, I would like to stay here without a doubt. I’ll just remember to bring my portable kettle (I need my nightly tea!)…

Do Not visit this hotel!
The service was awful. No one was at the front desk when we checked in...as a matter of fact there was no front desk. No one shared with us about wifi or parking. We had to inquire on our own and no one spoke English, as we struggled with the language barrier, not only at this hotel, but all over the city of Freyburg. The bathroom had a smell of mold and mildew and thoroughly grossed both of us out! The bed was uncomfortable and the sheets, pillowcases and bed had stains. The pillows were flat and probably about 20 years old. We had to use our jackets as pillows. We tried to visit the restaurant for dinner and they would not serve us because it was 8:02 and they said they were closed at 8 & they had just seated two tables right before us. I cannot say enough bad things about this hotel and there is no redeeming qualities of this hotel whatsoever!

Der 3 Sterne ist man nicht würdig
Gemütliches Hotel mit geräumigen Zimmern, Restaurant und offener Innenhof auch einladend. Jedoch muß gesagt werden, daß man dem Drei-Sterne-Anspruch nicht gerecht wird. Die angebotenen Speisen könnte man als gutbürgerlich bezeichnen, werden jedoch recht lieblos angeboten. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ich beobachtete, daß ca. 10 Gäste um 20:20 Uhr das Restaurant wieder verließen, da die Küche schon geschlossen sei. Gastlichkeit sieht anders aus, da lebt man noch in vergangenen DDR-Zeiten. Die Sauberkeit muß beklagt werden, insbesondere das Bad, welches total versifft war. Das kann man dann schon als Schandfleck bezeichnen. Die Lage ist sehr zentral. Unter den gegebenen Umständen ist das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis schlecht. Obwohl es sich um ein recht originelles Hotel/Restaurant handelt, kann man es nur mit erheblichen Abschlägen empfehlen.

Mitten drin
In bester Lage liegt dieses kleine Haus mit großer Historie und Tradition. Lebendige Geschichte im zu besichtigenden alten Weinkeller. Chefin und Personal sehr nett - Hotelzimmer sehr einfach eingerichtet für nicht große Ansprüche. Renovierung läuft. Preisgünstig.

Das war nicht gut
Früher haben wir hier gerne gegessen. Dieses Jahr war das Essen nach unserer Einschätzung nicht mehr gut. Uns erschien die Portionen sehr klein, die Bedienung unfreundlich. Die Bratkartoffeln waren nach unserem Eindruck aufgewärmt und nicht frisch Was ich auch daran zeigte, dass die Zwiebeln nicht gebraten, die Kartoffeln aber schon sehr dunkel waren. Wir werden hier wahrscheinlich nicht mehr einkehren.
