More than just aged.

The hotel and the room were in poor condition. Here is an excerpt of the deficiencies:
Heavily worn carpets in the stairwell.
Trash and coffee cups in the stairwell.
Open, unsealed expansion joints between the hallway and bathroom.
Damaged baseboards in the living area.
Soiled and torn pillows.
Only a few channels work on the television, no ZDF!
Both lampshades were damaged.
Cover for the coaxial connection is completely missing.
Damaged holder for toilet paper.
Severely damaged armchair at both armrests.
The trash can from the previous guest had not been emptied.
etc.
Upon inquiry, no other room was available.
The hotel management did not respond to my emails after two requests.

Absolute lack of empathy.

We booked this hotel with great anticipation for a family trip. Shortly after the booking, we unfortunately noticed an error in the travel dates and immediately contacted both the hotel and the platforms Booking and Check24 to find a reasonable solution together. This is not about a small amount. For a family, a loss of over 540 euros represents a significant financial burden. That is precisely why we have repeatedly tried, politely and respectfully, to find a humane and fair alternative. What disappointed us the most, however, was not the existence of a non-refundable rate, but the complete absence of empathy and any willingness to offer even the smallest solution. At no point was any alternative proposed to us: no rebooking, no voucher, no partial refund, no goodwill solution, absolutely nothing. The hotel's response was merely that – regardless of the circumstances described and all our attempts to find a friendly solution – no cancellation was possible and they would be pleased to welcome us on the booked dates. Both Booking and Check24 informed us multiple times that a partial or even full refund would have been easily possible if the hotel had approved it. This means that the final decision rested solely with the hotel. Despite numerous emails and multiple attempts to contact, our requests were ultimately completely ignored until we received no response at all. Of course, we understand that a hotel has internal rules and must protect its business. But a good hotel does not fill its rooms in the long term at the expense of customers who made a human error, but through professionalism, empathy, good service, and the ability to build trust and loyalty with guests. Especially in difficult situations, the true human and professional quality of a hotel is revealed. Unfortunately, our experience regarding communication, customer service, and human interaction was extremely disappointing and far from what we would have expected from a truly guest-oriented hotel.

Looks good on the outside, dangerous on the inside.

The parking spaces are designed very tightly, making them seem hardly sufficient for standard vehicle sizes.
In my view, the hotel is only partially suitable for business stays. During my stay, I noticed several points that raise questions regarding fire safety and electrical safety. These include, among other things, blocked fire doors, missing or unclear escape and rescue routes, as well as facilities whose safety status appears unclear (e.g., unmarked inspections of fire extinguishers).
I also found the installation of individual electrical devices in the sanitary area particularly critical, where apparent modifications had been made (e.g., cable routing or grounding), and this was in close proximity to water sources.
I would like to point out that companies, in accordance with their duty of care (§ 618 BGB and the Occupational Safety and Health Act), are fundamentally responsible for ensuring that accommodations for employees meet appropriate safety standards. This includes, in particular, functioning fire protection measures, safe electrical installations, and clearly marked escape routes.
In this context, every employer should carefully examine whether the conditions on-site meet the usual safety requirements that employees are entitled to expect.

Underground....

We have booked an allergy room for 4 people. We were allocated two rooms with two beds each in one unit. The rooms were totally smoked. As an allergy sufferer and with a child an imposition. Heating did not work, impossible at 4 degrees outside temperature. The lights in the hallway were permanently on, as the motion detector was probably defective. There were no other rooms on request. We had driven 8 hours with a tired child, it was late and another accommodation not feasible. Never again, we have never had such an impossible accommodation.

I can't recommend this place.

Even when booking early, I asked if I could have a gluten-free breakfast. I was told to call again the day before. The day before we arrived, I told the hotel by phone that instead of a gluten-free breakfast, I could also use spelt bread/buns, but no wheat and no rye.
To my great disappointment there were neither spelt nor gluten-free rolls or bread, not even oatmeal. If I had been informed, I would have brought my own bread. In the greatest need, the sausage (cheese, jam) tastes good even without bread??? Not to me...
Also, the carpet in the hallway in front of our room was quite dirty, i.e., not vacuumed.
The fact that the toilet lid in the room was only hanging on one hinge, on the other hand, bothered us less.
