Pricey and very small rooms.

The Tanne has no lift. It is difficult to bring things up to your room. Rooms are very small. The owner was a little pompis. Would NOT stay there again. The bar was stark and ugly. The only good thing was the breakfast.

Good locaton

Goslar is a picturesque, mideaval town and Die Tanne is very nicely located to explore it. Clearly marked parking which was easily accessible before checking in (EUR 7 per night when we were there). Efficient check-in, good sized room, clean, comfortable beds, very small but adequate bathroom. Wifi included but rather shaky. Very nice breakfast buffet. Centrally located, just 10 minutes or so walk to center of old town. If you are sensitive to noise and want to sleep with windows open (no A/C) ask for a room facing away from the street. No lift in the building.

22nd to 27th August. Easy walk from station or to old town and a shop nearby. Reception closes at 10pm but key opens door from outside.Large, pleasant but hot 'single' room: 2 beds + couch & desk. No fan,so heat disturbed sleep.Bedding heavy & base sheet had holes in.Window almost fell off hinges on last evening; promptly seen to. Spacious en suite but shower head,bath towel rail,mirror all out of reach:had to stand on a stool for the safe (luckily I understood German instructions).Tired towels,basin surround damaged. Good(cold only)breakfast in pleasant room:ordinary milk on request instead of evaporated. Noisy in street and above (wooden floors) on last 2 nights. Obliging staff.
