Zur Katz a place to go!

This family operated restaurant (annex Hotel) is worth your visit, hardly impossible to leave this place being disappointed. Excellent traditional German cuisine assuring you feels at home. Kind staff, and interesting ambience. Excellent beer and wines. Good quality food at reasonable pricing. A place to return. Highly recommended.

Mixed thoughts on this one !

This is the second time we have booked this hotel for a one night stay over on our way from Switzerland to Germany, both times were in November and both times we were shown a room which was freezing cold, in other words no one had bothered to turn the radiators up even though they knew they had sold the room! The hallways were warmer ! Needless to say not a warm welcome. However we wanted to give this hotel a second chance as the restaurant gets good reviews so we ate our evening meal there and I must say it was good, not too fancy but decent tasting traditional German food, with varied choices if you cant take yet another schnitzel !
However, the biggest gripe of this place , once we had attempted to get some warmth into the room , was the fact that although they advertise free wifi, it is NOT available, whatever kind of set up they have there it is not one we have ever come across, we were able to log onto Facebook, but had no other service at all. We pointed this out to the staff in the restaurant in the evening, who claimed they do indeed have wifi, and yes we did indeed have a signal , however it was not possible to use this to check e mails, look at news websites etc! So, if travelling for either business of pleasure and you need to be online , please avoid this hotel. We queried this situation again when we checked out the following morning , only to be told " no one else had reported such a problem" we travel a lot and always have our i pads with us, this is the first time we have not been able to get full service , but later when we stopped at a service station, we got fully functioning wifi, so it had nothing to do with our equipment!

A Nice Place for a Lunch/Dinner Stop

If you are on the A61, like me yesterday, and need a lunch, this is a good place aside the A61 Expressway.
I didn't come to stay over night but for a lunch.
The menu isn't big but according to season: traditional German Cuisine, but on an excellent level. No star cuisine, but really tasty. (portion bigger than I need.)
Actually much better than I expected, but the guest room was full, showing the cook must have something.
Everything was very clean, so I would consider to stay over night there, if I was too tired for continuing my trip.
Also service was very good.

Not to be missed

We have stayed at this place now 3 or 4 times travelling between Austria and England. It has never disappointed us the food is excellent and cannot be faulted. Good staff. Good rooms what else can you want. I can highly recommend this establishment. We look forward 5o staying there again

Abendessen im Restaurant

Wir haben auf der Fahrt nach Hause dort angehalten und bestellten Rumpsteak auf Madagaskar-Pfeffersauce mit Spiegelei, Speckbohnen, Pommes Frittes und Schweineschnitzel "Försterin" mit Bratkartoffeln. Alles sehr gut und lecker.
Man sitzt gut, die Bedienung ist freundlich, Hunde sind willkommen
