Highly impressive hotel
First visit to Hamburg to enjoy a new experience and a few days rest, there is a bit of construction work going on around and near the hotel, but once inside this completely disappears.
The hotel immediately strikes with a very high end feel, an old building but very carefully restored with an almost colonial feel.
We had breakfast most mornings, a very impressive choice on offer, we had dinner twice in the main restaurant too, with very high quality dishes, excellent wines. The bar area was also lovely.
The room we had on a higher floor was large with a lovely bathroom, we also had room service which was very prompt.
The hotel is very close to the lake, it is a short walk across a (busy) road with boats nearby to take you round the lake or to the city centre. The hop on hop off open top buses also stop right outside the hotel lobby.
A very enjoyable few days stay, the hotel made a perfect base to explore and retire to in the evening with excellent food and hospitality.
The staff were also a credit to the hotel.

Outstanding hotel in a beautiful location
Ideal location on the Außenalster; the downtown shopping streets and many sights are within walking distance.
Our stay at the Hotel Atlantic Hamburg was a true delight; incredible comfort and refined Hanseatic luxury, starting the day in the Alstersalon with a very rich and delicious selection at the breakfast buffet, plus freshly prepared à la carte dishes - my personal favorite is the Atlantic Omelette with fresh North Sea shrimp; in all areas of the hotel, we were efficiently and very kindly looked after by the team, for which many heartfelt thanks! And not least the dreamlike view from the room over the Außenalster.
The occasion for our visit to Hamburg this time was a family event that was celebrated in the Atrium. Delicious appetizers, delicate tartlets from the hotel's own patisserie, a selection of exquisite drinks put together by the sommelier, in a summery atmosphere, while being looked after in a completely professional and gracious manner by the Atlantic Bar team. An unforgettable afternoon, many thanks!
A dinner at the Atlantic Grill & Health in a small group rounded off our stay perfectly. Very nice welcome, excellent advice on all food and drinks, a culinary highlight of our visit to Hamburg in a very pleasant atmosphere, also here with typical Hanseatic flair, great, attentive, and yet absolutely unobtrusive service. Our 15-month-old baby also visibly felt comfortable; once again, many heartfelt thanks!
We felt very, very comfortable again this time and are already looking forward to the Atlantic during our next visit to Hamburg!

Another wonderful stay!
Simply a splendid experience all around! This was our second stay here. We had an Alster View room on the 4 th floor. Recently renovated and beautiful!!
Hospitality was non-Pareil! The staff was wonderful… full of “can-do” attitude, pleasant, capable… just great!
Wonderful breakfast! Extensive buffet and fine menu order options.
Handy location to sites , restaurants and the beautiful lake. Upon return to Hamburg, we’ll stay here!!

Disappointing for what we paid!
First the good - lovely clean hotel with great experience at the breakfast and in the bar. On the downside we were given “Deluxe” room 431 which was between renovation works taking place on the fourth floor, awoken by the sound of drilling, and a construction site visible and audible from the window, and overlooking a disappointing back service area. We were staying with friends who were given 465, a much better room overlooking the internal courtyard. We were offered a room move for the remainder of our stay but decided to avoid the inconvenience. I would suggest that when rooms are subject to this amount of disruption and poor outlook, they should be closed and not sold as Deluxe!

Very disappointing
Despite very nice rooms and beautiful interior as well as facade, absolutely unsatisfactory service. No turndown. Ordered food is still in the room after four hours. Catastrophic breakfast organization with 10m line Completely outdated spa area with senior flair. No longer recommended..
