Nice little hotel

The hotel is run in an old-fashioned manner and is well-maintained. The first impression is misleading... the rooms are large. The breakfast is excellent, and the old town is reachable within a 5-minute walk. In the outdoor area, there are several bike garages with electric roll-up doors, operable with the room key. I would gladly return!

Highly recommended hotel

We were 10 people from 21.05. - 25.05.2025 in Hameln and had chosen the Garni Hotel Jugendstil, which was a very good decision. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The staff was very helpful. So that we could start the day together at a breakfast table, the bar Rat Trap was prepared for us, a big praise for that. We were also positively noticed was the good mood among the staff during the breakfast, there was laughter, the service was great. Even rain clouds could not spoil the day. Keep it up!

Not recommended

I tried to contact the hotel to make sure I could check in after 8pm but there was no way. And so I arrived without anyone receiving me and I had to sleep in the car all night until 7 in the morning. To apologize I was served breakfast in the room but it turns out that there is also no cleaning service in this establishment, because I found the room as I left it, the rest of the food still on the table, the unmade bed or the changed towels. A total disaster

A cosy, comfortable and quiet hotel

Formally it is a 4-star hotel. Although it lacks certain services that I expect from a 4-star hotel, I must acknowledge that it is very comfortable and pleasant, so my judgement is positive, and I will certainly stay here again when I will be in Hameln.
The hotel is family run and has a total of 24 rooms. It is right in the centre of the town, in an affluent and quiet quarter, and the elegant 4-storey building where it is located presumably was a former residential house. It has parking place for about a dozen of cars in the courtyard. The rates are inclusive of parking and breakfast, and are clearly listed in their web site; luckily, they are not subject to the seasonal or daily fluctuations that are usual in the larger hotels. It should be appreciated that all rooms are provided with efficient air conditioning, a convenience which is not so common in this part of Germany.
The hotel is definitely elegant, and much care has been taken in appropriately designing the rooms, with clever use of colours and insertion of pieces of old or antique furniture. Every room has a different personality and all of them are pleasant and cosy. Beds and bedding are definitely good; space is abundant; my room was in the attic, so I could also benefit of a large independent terrace. The bathroom is very modern and complete. The buffet breakfast is abundant, varied and with good quality food. Management is friendly. Booking procedures are easy, either by telephone or by e-mail. Enough English is spoken at the reception.
There are also some downsides, caused by the fact that certain benefits and amenities that are usually got in a 4-star hotel are not available here. Service and assistance are discontinued at night, between 22:00 and 6:00: the guests can however open the external doors with their key. There are no coffee making facilities in the room; no complimentary drinking water is provided, except on the first night; there are no toilet amenities in the bathroom, except soap in a dispenser; there are only two TV channels broadcasting in non-German languages, i.e. BBC-news and CNN; the hotel lacks a business-room provided with computer, printer and Internet connection. However, the comfort of a short-term stay is only marginally impaired by these shortcomings.
The hotel is located only 100 metres away from the historical centre of the town, making it easy to explore the town or to reach the commercial area. The quarter is very quiet; traffic is scarce and noise non-existent. The hotel appears very appropriate for tourism and business purposes.

A Satisfactory Stay

Arriving at the train station we got a taxi for €9 to the hotel.
Got all the info you require from reception, incl a map and rec for restaurants. We were allocated room 14 on the 1 st floor. There is a lift.
Our room was spacious and well suited for a person with mobility issues. One of the beds was able to be tilted and the bathroom was well designed with grab rails and easy access to the shower. There is a drying rack, always useful for the traveller.
The room overlooked a side street and was very quiet. The windows are openable. Its nicely decorated with Art Nouveau touches in keeping with the general theme of the hotel. TV and bar fridge. Apples are on the room for the 1st night and they are near reception also.
The free wifi needs a separate code is needed for each device.
Breakfast was held in a bright room adjacent to reception on the ground floor. Good array of cereals and dried fruit, yogurt, meats and cheeses. Hard boiled eggs as well as some homemade cake. Its all served buffet style and there was variety on each day, but not inspiring Fresh flowers are on the tables.
Access to the hotel from the car park needs a key, or during working hours, you can buzz. Staff are not there in the evenings.
The hotel is well located for exploring the old town.
Upon checkout, the reception staff kindly called a taxi for us.
We thought this hotel unexceptional but was a good place to stay
