Friendly, clean and centrally located

Centrally located in the old town. Partially serviced hotel, after 1800 self-service. Clean and neat rooms. Very good breakfast. Family run, very nice service and management. Reasonable price. Parking with hotel discount 100 m from the hotel.

Above and Beyond Service

I've got to thank the staff at the hotel for above and beyond service. When my prebooked taxi failed to arrive (after several calls) the gentleman at reception came out and drove me to the train station in his own car. He did so without asking or payment. Thank you!
BTW - taxis in Heidelberg are stuck in the 1970's - poor service and you need cash for most of them.

Pleasantly surprised and pleased with our stay

We stayed at the Hotel am Kornmarkt from Friday 9.27 to Sunday 9.29. Much to our surprise, there was an autumnal festival going on in Heidelberg that weekend. The hotel proprietor did email me back in July to let me know, but I tend to woefully neglect my personal email account, and therefore missed the memo. However, we were so pleased as our humongous (by European standards) room overlooked the Kornmarkt square, and had a balcony with table and chairs. We toured Heidelberg, enjoyed the fest- boots on the ground, and then were able to retreat to our balcony to enjoy a glass and watch the festivities. The view of the square was lovely and the proximity of the hotel to the funicular up to the castle, were the selling points for me. There is a lovely little cafe just next door, and many excellent restaurants just a few steps away.
The room was spacious and comfortable. The bed was on the firmer side. There was a couch which was nice for relaxing after walking all day. Everything was clean and comfortable.
I would not hesitate to stay at the Hotel am Kornmarkt in the future.

Brilliant Location

A traditional family run hotel in the middle of Heidelberg Old Town was a joy from the start. The world famous castle was hovering in the sky above us with the funicular railway a few yards from the door in the quaint & picturesque old market square and to make it even more magical there was a traditional Christmas Market on the front door. On arrival we were given an upgrade to a large first floor room with an even bigger & more impressive bathroom - I have complained for many years about the lack of storage/shelving in hotel bathrooms but this wonderful room had a enormous bath plus a separate large walk-in shower and no less than 57 shelves - so amazed that I counted them! All very minor issues were dealt with very quickly & we can very warmly recommend every aspect of this welcoming hotel.

Amazing, spacious, clean, and comfortable

This is a perfect hotel to stay in right on one of the old town squares and next to parking garage and many bars and restaurants. Also directly at the bottom of the walking path to the castle.
Very comfortable bed and nice hot water.
Views from the window. We chose to have a room with a private bathroom for a bit more money. But very affordable either way.
