Good hotel

A very good hotel/restaurant.
Friendly people and very helpfull, the food was good. Rooms were a good size and clean and nice and quiet.
In the neighbourhood there are a lot of places to go to, like Koblenz, Boppard.

Too expensive and very dissapointing

The hotel is set in a great location for motorbike riders but at €110 a night for a twin room, the service and quality of food leaves a lot to be desired. Although the rooms are clean, the decor is incredibly dated and the quality of mattress and pillow was awful. The food was disappointing too, especially considering how expensive it was to stay there. We were actually charged €2.50 each for a glass of tap water at dinner too which was beyond belief. The breakfast buffet is ok but limited.
The manager (and quite within his rights) insisted we payed for a room that was no-longer required by the group, but when we asked for the key back so that we could use it for another member of the group, he said the key was lost. It later transpired that he had re-let the room at full tariff to someone else and offered us no refund. This kind of trickery leaves a bad after taste.
The location is amazing for bike riders as the roads are incredible but I would certainly not stay here again. The service and overall quality of the hotel is far from satisfactory at that nightly rate.

Alte Viehweide

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and have always found the service was excellent,the food superb and the owners could not have been more friendly and helpfull, The area is perfect for like minded bikers, with roads that can only be described as fabulous. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for bike groups and for families.

think twice!

After a recent stay at this hotel I was very disappointed in both the attitude of the staff/owner and the standards of the food,
Certainly feel very let down by the attitude of some of the staff and as for that I certainly would not recommend or wish to stay at this place ever again,
Its a shame really as with decent staff/owner and a revamp of the chef then it could be a more welcoming place.

The staff are very nice but the manager is money hungry beyound believe, 2 of our party had to leave early and had to pay the remaining days booked fair enough but threating calling the police even though he was told he would be paid before the remaining party members left, yet when asked to call the police because one of the party thought his wallet had been stolen from the restaurant made every attempt to not call them, so when another in the party wanted a room to himself as it had already paid for, only to be lied to about a lost key then its let to someone else and no offer of a refund, very rude to members in the party when they had to move room because of a mess up on his part with keys, I recomend staying elsewhere and I will never stay there again, very expensive and being charged for tap water, at a meal, find some where else in the area is my advise
