Quiet and pleasant

The hotel is very quiet, right on the large forest - Nomen est Omen. Parking is available in many places and free of charge. Electricity tank columns are also available.
Watch out. The reception is not always staffed.
The room was spacious, modern, very clean - and without carpeting! Everything rather functional, but lacks air conditioning. The mattresses were a bit sagged but still acceptable.
The breakfast was rich and qualitatively fine, the service friendly and forwarding.
A solid hotel at a pleasant price. Should we be close again, we would probably choose this house again.

A Hidden Gem

This was a very nostalgic trip for my wife who I accompanied as she stayed at this hotel while her parents were in the forces in the late 60's early 70's. The Hotel did not disappoint and the staff were wonderful . Especially the son of the owner who was there 40 years ago when my wife as then was Lynette Godliman met just before we left.

Steady quality over the years, accomodation and restaurant

For those looking for a stopover between Hanover and Hamburg, the hotel Waldesrand is definitely a recommendable option. The section over the restaurant has been modernised recently. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious and modern. Rooms are equipped with a fridge and connected to Wi-Fi. A vast parking extends in front of the hotel. Prices are more than reasonable and include a free breakfast buffet offering sufficient choices. If at the reception the staff shows a fair command of the English language, in the other facilities however, including the dinner room, visitors will have to sustain the conversation exclusively in the German language which unfortunately could cast a shadow over that **** hotel and superior quality restaurant. Not enough to deter us from going back…

Great hotel

Great location, close to the Autobahn A2. Clean rooms, friendly staff and great food (not to mention the Herforder Pils). Nice restaurant to enjoy a well cooked meal and relax after a day at work.
A great place to stay when doing business or travelling in this part of Germany.

Nice hotel, good food

I was in the hotel during the Hannover Messe. Clean hotel and restaurant is good. Breakfast is a buffet and slightly different every day. Only bad thing was that I had a room where guests are allowed to smoke. Same goes for the bar. Smoking is allowed. The English of the staff is not up to standards for a hotel in my opinion. The lady at the front desk did not even try.
