Chic view and great dinner location

A chic hotel with a fantastic view from the room! Relatively expensive, but also chic. The room itself is clean, but apart from the view, nothing special. The Scala Restaurant is great with good food and a panoramic view.

Only in case of emergency again

First, the positive. The view is fantastic. ok, but that's it. The rooms have a very modern design, which is of course a matter of taste and I don't want to criticize either. There are people who like to watch your partner shower or use the toilet. The hotel reportedly has 4 stars? Something's going wrong. There is neither a coffee machine nor all the things I expect in a 4 star house. The rooms are dusty, noisy and worn out. The technique is almost not explained and is cumbersome. There's not even an armchair or a real table, just a dusty sideboard. Iron or board misrepresentation. If you have a question in the evening is neither the reception staffed nor can you be helped. If you're unlucky enough, the cleaning power just comes into the room early while you shower. Unbelievable! The staff at the reception (when he is there) was very nice though. All in all, it's like the restaurant. The view is great, the rest leaves something to be desired. Very bad about the actually great location.

Underground location and reception

Arrival Sunday, neither phone nor reception manned, no parking, parking 2€ per hour, unclean dark rooms, air conditioning not switchable.

Phenomenal view over Jena

The hotel has only a few rooms and is located on the 27th floor. Floor of the tower that presently towers over Jena. Check-In is on the ground floor, after which it goes up with one of the 6 lifts. Access to the area only with appropriate room card.
The room was small but ok. The bathroom but up to date with glass shower.
The furniture, however, seemed a bit spent. The carpets could also be thoroughly cleaned once.
Breakfast is served at the 28th. Stock, good adequate selection. The staff there were sometimes very nice up to "musty". But why so many outsiders book and visit this there is not revealed to me.
All in all I would book it again.

High Tech - high aspiration only?

I was looking forward to stay in Scala, however greatly disappointed: in the morning, there was no running water in shower and bathroom available. When I notified the clerk, even she was surprised. The information, that this happens more often and that it is not their fault, did not comfort me. I had to pay the bill fully and was left off like that. Even the restaurant did not have water supply, so no breakfast either..
