August 7, 2025. Visit to FamiliePretPark Wunderland Kalkar / Kernwasserwunderland for the 71st time in 22 years!
Arrival at 10:00 am, pressure on the parking lot, traffic wardens present, several cash registers open.
Mascot Kernie & all-round entertainer Eddie Daams welcome guests big and small.
A cozy crowd in the park and great summer hot weather.
Delicious fries and soft ice creams and fun attractions with very reasonable waiting times, TOP !
We went to all three performances of Eddie Daams at the Kernie theatre, each performance was slightly different, because Eddie Daams responds to the reactions of the children, what a pleasure!
Thanks to Tamara Deumers, Ruud van der Veen, Eddie Daams, Dorianne Broens, among others, for the pleasant conversations.
In October we will go to Wunderland Kalkar again because of Kinder-Halloween, see you then!

Disastrous

Very bad hotel, definitely not worth its money. Bad room, looks like a hotel from the former Eastern Bloc, shower with mold everywhere. In front of the room a pond where you can hear frogs all night. Breakfast is good with plenty of choice. For dinner there is a lot of choice but all tasteless and the food is crawling with flies. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Park ok, accommodation not recommended

We liked the park in itself, but it has come of age and during our stay not everything had opened.
The rooms are very basic. Unfortunately we had to leave in the evening because we had a mosquito plague in the room. The walls showed that we were not the first with this problem.

Only entertainment in the evening

Hotel is now very clean!! The garden around it looks very nice well maintained. Interior of the hotel very well maintained...
Beautiful terrace..sun and shade spots.
Rooms are good..neat and clean.
Clean towels every day.
Breakfast lunch and dinner by German standards..as there were few guests more limited supply. ..but something for everyone.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
Negatives. No entertainment in the evening during our 5 day visit.

Never again

Stayed in hotel for business. Simple room, reasonable mattress. Cobwebs, very warm room without air conditioning / ventilation. With windows open all night loud croaking frogs under room window.
The rooms above the pestrasse seem better option, less hot, no fivers with frogs. Entire hotel and entertainment area very old-fashioned. Simple breakfast.
