This hotel has a fantastic location and very family freindly. Enjoyed our one night stay. Great apartment and food with an amazing view over the lake.

This hotel should be avoided.

Unfriendly staff, unclean rooms, noisy, in need of renovation; the breakfast was like in a youth hostel (usually better there!); friends of mine even left early because the room simply stank (without getting their money back); they initially wanted to charge for the pre-paid breakfast as well.

Bad experiences

Unfortunately, our first thought has been confirmed. This place is absolutely not recommended. It has come of age and needs a lot of renovation in some places. The rooms are simply furnished and absolutely noisy. That gave us the chance to have a disastrous night. In the next room there was a loud argument and it kept getting louder. From the hotel neither at night help nor the next day understanding or any accommodation. My husband was threatened by the guests in the next room. Breakfast the next morning was not worth the price of 14.90 euros. What was left was dried or cold. All in all, it was just horrible.

Unprofessional behaviour of the owner – disappointing stay

At breakfast, I politely pointed out that my fried eggs were cold, and asked to get two new ones. Shortly afterwards, I was approached by a person who asked for my room number and length of stay without introduction. When asked why he wanted to know, he responded by saying that I was rude and that my behaviour was unacceptable. I made it clear that I was merely exercising my right as a paying guest to express criticism of the food – without being in any way offended. His answer: “Then you don’t have to eat this – leave the hotel immediately.”
Only after that did it become clear that this person was the owner. That a hotelier treats guests so disrespectfully and impulsively is simply an unding. Such unprofessional behaviour is a clear exclusion criterion for me.
Apart from that, the rooms are clearly outdated and overall the house looks little maintained. Breakfast was also disappointing in quality.
Conclusion: This hotel is definitely not recommended – especially due to the inappropriate handling of guests.

There would be much more potential here

For our family reunion the Red Cat & Grey Cat was chosen. Very nicely located on the Fulda we liked it. The room was clean and simply furnished, the bathroom exudes a bit too much of "plastic charm".
Overall, you can see everywhere that only the most necessary is done here. The still quite reasonable price can't hide this, but there are various extras for a fee. The food was ok so far, but quite expensive. The drink prices are almost "Zurich level", which was definitely too expensive. On the second evening we preferred to eat out.
Breakfast fits the picture, is only filled up when a little longer time is out. The staff was very friendly, but a little more attention would do good. Then guests would not have to run after the staff. All in all ok, but a pity actually. Especially since the cat and cat motif really systematically run through the house. The confident red cat could not improve the overall impression.

Very good location
