A dreamy time in a historically modern environment.
Great hotel, which rightly is associated with romance! The hotel is very nicely and centrally located in historic Kelheim. The docking station for boats is just a stone's throw away. There are many great restaurants nearby, and the city center is also very close. The hotel itself is amazing! It is truly a tower where one can actually strike! The hotel has been lovingly renovated and modernized - one feels absolutely comfortable! The hotelier and his girls, as he affectionately calls them, are very friendly and anticipate every wish! The suites and rooms are very clean, in good condition, and spacious. We were already there last August and stayed in a suite (Franz-Xaver) - this time I wanted to be a princess and we chose the "Altmühlzimmer," which is located on the 2nd floor. It is located on the 2nd floor. We were not disappointed there either! The absolute highlight was the very large rooftop terrace! In every room, one discovers lovingly restored and preserved historical memorabilia - one just has to look closely. If one is a breakfast person, then one is more than well taken care of there and definitely does not leave the table hungry. Here, too, all wishes are fulfilled, and there is a huge selection of rolls, sausages, cheeses, muesli, eggs, and fruit variations that are always replenished! Additionally, one can discover a lot in and around the hotel itself. For example, right next door, one can access a Kneipp basin at the "Alte Altmühl" via a hotel-owned dock/access. The courtyard of the hotel is also stunning! We will conquer the wellness area next time - it looks very exciting and relaxing! Exactly... We will definitely be repeat offenders and book this hotel again!!

Very good hotel for our weekend trip
We stayed in October 2025 in four (2 double rooms) for one night each in the tower hotel.
We felt super comfortable.
Everything worked out fine with the check in, everything was top prepared and we were informed very well in advance by the owner.
Location is great to the old town and yet quiet, parking has been no problem with us, hotel within walking distance of a large parking lot.
Can we recommend without hesitation.

Perfect stay
Very good location. Great Service and great staff. Perfectly clean. Everything fit here! On our next visit to Kelheim, the Erasmus is the first choice!

Great hotel anytime again
We had booked the Franz Xaver Suite for 4 nights. The bedroom of this suite is located in the tower and is super nice. The bed is one he cozy beds that I had so far in a hotel. The bathroom is a nice size. In the hotel there is a fridge where you can get drinks all day at a reasonable price. Directly behind the hotel is a parking lot where you could park with exception during your stay. During the whole stay we had via Whats App very pleasant contact with the hotel owner. Was really a great stay

Hopefully there are better things to do in Kelheim
Our room was already a little old,
but you could accept it
(our friends slept in a newly renovated room
which and, possibly also because of our dog, not offered at all
was).
Why our room was called ‘Danube view’ did not open up to us,
since the view only over the road and the adjacent
building was oriented (vlt. they wanted to give us a bit
deceive)!!??
The bathroom was at about 4sqm much too small for 2 people and was like
the room is not up to date either.
Breakfast left nothing to be desired, on the contrary we were still
Egg dishes offered fresh from the kitchen.
Despite everything with 166 € very poor value for money!!
but you could accept it

Die Zimmer unseres Hauses wurden alle im selben Zeitraum renoviert. Wir bedauern sehr, dass bei Ihnen der Eindruck entstanden ist, Ihr Zimmer sei „in die Jahre gekommen“, während andere frisch renoviert seien. Das entspricht so nicht den Tatsachen. Zudem möchten wir betonen, dass die Mitnahme von Hunden auch in den Erdgeschoss-Zimmern unseres Haupthauses möglich ist.
Die Zimmernamen – wie z. B. „Donaublick“ – sind thematische bayerische Bezeichnungen und keine direkte Aussichtsbeschreibung. Es war auf keinen Fall unser Ziel, jemanden in die Irre zu führen. Genau deshalb stellen wir auf unserer Website zu jedem Zimmer aussagekräftige Bilder und detaillierte Beschreibungen bereit, damit sich jeder Gast im Vorfeld ein realistisches Bild machen kann. Wir verstehen dennoch, dass es hier zu einem Missverständnis kommen konnte, und nehmen Ihren Hinweis ernst.
