Good surprise in small village of Kosching

Sometimes, old Gasthof have the problem to be outdated, furniture of 70s, breaky of 80s and so forth.
This is totally different. Obviously, the building is old style, but the rooms are modern and functional, the breaky covers any taste, the people are attentive and friendly - so nothing to complain about. Moreover, there are some parking lots nearby, and eating and drinking in the reataurant is fun and tasty. It is directly in the middle of Kosching, giving the opportunity for a walk around, finding some stores and other restaurants. Next time again!

Once and never again.

When booking, we overlooked the fact that the hotel only opens at 4 PM (!) on Friday, and after ringing 3 times with no response, we knocked loudly on the door because we saw 2 people inside - at 3:40 PM. The door was then opened by a man and we were lectured that it is not appropriate to knock so loudly on the door before 4 PM! Not a good start, then, especially since the establishment advertises its friendliness. We stayed there for 2 nights with breakfast; the double room (without a balcony) facing the courtyard was clean and functionally furnished. The Amberger cannot be blamed for the event on Sunday morning at the nearby marketplace with sirens starting at 06:45 AM and marching music until 07:15 AM, but it certainly can be for the breakfast. Perhaps we shouldn't expect too much for 9.00 EUR, but we certainly would have expected cleaned tables and for someone to look after the buffet and check if anything needed to be replenished. Thus, we unfortunately did not get to enjoy scrambled eggs twice, as it was already gone 45 minutes before the end of breakfast time, just as nothing else was replenished at the buffet. To be able to drink coffee at all, we had to clean the coffee machine ourselves once - the milk intake was clogged - and refill water once, which was not so easy without a water connection in the breakfast room, as we also did not want to go looking for staff. However, we could see from the breakfast room onto a small terrace where employees were sitting comfortably with coffee and cigarettes. At 10 AM, an employee then appeared promptly to clear away. Although we are in Kösching more often, the Amberger will no longer be an option for us.

Upon arrival the Hotel was closed and “on holiday”. They left a note on a door. We had to do a last minute booking to find a place to stay.
We had received information about check in, which must have been automated.

The hotel was noisy due to a party that run until late in the restaurant. The crackling of the wooden floor is annoying too. The rest was fine.
