Great location, paid an excessive premium due to the Final of the Europa Conference, hotel was clean, staff helpful and friendly. Would happily revisit, only down side, advertised as free parking and despite paying a premium of almost x6 the normal rate, parking was charged extra!!

Hotel Arena City in Leipzig is very conveniently located, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is not air conditioned, however, and we visited during a late summer heat wave. We had to leave the windows open, and the hotel is on a busy tram line, so it was quite noisy at night.

Arena City Hotel – Quiet room & friendly Service
Solid city hotel in a convenient location.
We spent a weekend in Leipzig and chose the Arena City Hotel. Our room was small but quiet to the courtyard and very cozy – just right for switching off.
Pluses: friendly staff, clean rooms and a hotel parking lot that saved us a lot of stress. Breakfast is offered but we did not use it.
If you are looking for a quiet hotel with a good location and fair facilities, you are in good hands here. No frills, but everything important available.

Always my pleasure !
Due to a deal we bought, we spent six days in this hotel to stroll around Leipzig and the surrounding area, not for the first time.
I upgraded to a suite, which not only gave us a very extensive view on the top 4th floor...but also a beautifully furnished, bright room of around 45 square meters with two modern bathrooms!
We absolutely cannot confirm the complaints about the tremendous noise from the street...even though we live in a very, very quiet area at home.
In general, the Waldstrasse, where the hotel is located, just a few minutes' walk from the ARENA: classy, historic, idyllic and very close to many multicultural restaurants...but also an idyllic beer garden with a rustic restaurant where you can eat Saxon food!
According to residents, the tram tracks have been changed in such a way that you can hardly hear the noise of the No. 4 tram passing by... and you can get on it almost in front of the door and you're in the middle of the center in 3 short stops!
But if you like to move around - like us - you only need your legs to be in the middle of the center in 20-30 minutes. Depending on how fast you walk or where you want to go!
When there's a football match, there's of course partying in the streets - but we were spared that! But you can't book a city hotel and expect the silence of the forest!
We also don't understand the sometimes criticized uncleanliness... we couldn't see any such thing in those days!
But I don't compare a hotel to a sterile operating room!
For breakfast: since individually made egg dishes and cappuccino etc. can be ordered at any time and included in the price, we didn't lack for anything - including the very good homemade egg salad and sometimes salmon!
The FR room has also been very nicely integrated into the reception...above all, it is airy and bright with a view of the idyllic street and there is also an outdoor seating area in a small green courtyard.
I would like to highlight the friendliness and helpfulness with tips from the manager Mr Bürger and his receptionist...but the other ladies present were also only friendly!
All in all, for me, a recommendable hotel considering an old historical building in a well-kept historical residential area close to many well-kept green areas.
The ARENA can be reached in just a few minutes.
The city harbor is also a 10-minute walk away...but be sure to pre-book a motorboat trip in "Little Venice". Unfortunately, we were unable to take part because we missed it.
A perfect addition to the city tour using the Hopp and Hopp bus.
