Short vacation at Lake Constance.

Very pleasant hotel in a good location (direct access to public transport, but also parking spaces included in the hotel price), attached restaurant - we felt comfortable!

A beautiful family-run house with good location to the island of Mainau

The hotel is wonderfully located within walking distance of the island of Mainau. Furthermore, the tourist tax/tourism tax includes a public transport ticket. The bus stops about 100 metres from the hotel. With line 13/4 it goes to the city to Konstanz and with the 4/13 back again.
We had a room of 4 which was kept simple but more than sufficient. It's all nice and clean. There was even a small kitchenette with fridge in this room.
The reception was extremely friendly and accommodating, really nice.
We once had dinner in the restaurant which was also quite delicious and priced ok.
The sauna was also used by my fellow travellers and was enthusiastic about the view of the lake. The underground parking spaces are quite narrow, but you can't improve that structurally either. At the pitches there was the hint that if you want to charge the electric car (via normal socket) you can report to the reception. Charging station is unfortunately not available, one or two 11 kW boxes would be great. Then you can recharge the car on the eve of departure and leave relaxed the next morning.
I can recommend the hotel without restriction.

Nice stay

The Hotel Volapük impresses with a friendly reception, but room 41 is in urgent need of renovation, especially the outdated bathroom shows clear signs of wear. Despite this, the bed was comfortable. The breakfast buffet offers a sufficient selection, but the halving of the croissants is irritating. The food in the hotel restaurant is good, but the service is inconsistent, sometimes friendly, sometimes snappy.

Breakfast service has a lot of room for improvement!

Great room, very clean and as good as new.
The service at dinner was really good.
Breakfast service unfortunately not available.
There were no more rolls until 10:00 breakfast at 9:30 and the milk was cleared away at 9:55...
I had to clear the breakfast table of the previous guest's plates and cups myself twice, even though they promised to clean it - but no one came!
The service staff had time for breakfast from 9:45 and had breakfast outside and smoked.
The breakfast service is bad - unfortunately!
I heard someone at the counter say - what's going on, you have to bake rolls, the guests want something to eat!!!
The roll basket at the buffet had already been empty for 20 minutes...
There is a lot of room for improvement at breakfast.
I would have liked to give more stars for the service, the evening service deserves 4.5 stars. Unfortunately the breakfast service only got 1.
Otherwise everything was great!!!

Tragedy

The food in the restaurant is excellent. Unfortunately, this joy is spoiled by the service. A self-important waiter has turned the restaurant into his stage and involves the guests in the tragedy. A sad performance that you end up having to pay for.
