Whilst I have nothing overly negative to say except the towels supplied to use with a bath/shower were totally inadequate - they were v only hand towels

No air conditioning, poor parking options, unsuitable for older guests or guests with disabilities.
The good first: the bed was fine and the restaurant in the evening too.
Supposedly it is a 4-star hotel, but:
The first impression of the hotel is simply the parking lot or the parking options.
Upon arrival, you will find very few parking spaces directly in front of the hotel, which are also very tight for today's cars.
We then drove into the underground garage. At the entrance, the maximum height was stated as 2.0 m. In the underground garage, you then find stacked parking spaces (duplex parking) and somewhere I saw a sign with the max. height of 1.5 m. Since our car is higher than 1.5 m, I did not park there and first had to drive up to the hotel and ask what was going on. Then it was explained to me that it is no longer in operation at all. Very unpleasant. There is a lack of clear signage for the stacked parking spaces here. The path from the underground garage to the elevator cannot be navigated alone by guests with disabilities - nor can the use of the stacked parking spaces.
The underground parking garage is managed by Avantpark via video and license plate monitoring. There is always that uneasy feeling that you will get a bill four weeks later, even though you have paid.
Room:
Poorly ventilated, no air conditioning, no refrigerator, no possibility of making coffee or tea.
There is a fan after all, it is in the closet. You have to find it first.
It is confusing that the outlets are controlled by a normal light switch. Nothing is labeled. You have to try everything out yourself. If you haven't found this switch, the TV won't work and neither will the fan, because the outlets are dead.
There is no information in the room about breakfast times or the opening hours of the bar and restaurant. A food and drink menu for the restaurant in the room would also be desirable.
I missed having fruit salad at breakfast.

Value for money leaves something to be desired.
I have been coming to the Achat Magdeburg for several years, but unfortunately I have to note that the price-performance ratio is drifting further and further apart. For some time now, 15 € has been charged for an outdoor parking space, there is no longer scrambled egg at the breakfast buffet, but instead pre-pressed omelets, fruit salad is no longer offered, although fresh fruit, which was always offered in a bowl, is now supposedly available instead. The air conditioning in the booked room was already not working properly last year at an outside temperature of 34 degrees. An ever-increasing backlog of maintenance and renovation is impossible to overlook.

Stopover hotel
Our layover hotel. Old-fashioned furnished but fine facilities: water bar, catering (until half past 12) and a mini supermarket. Rooms are old but in need of renovation, fine for 1 night.

Nice hotel, good restaurant. Lack of AC made the rooms terrible warm during night.
