Charming house with very friendly hostess

The house, the tastefully decorated rooms with terrace, everything is very harmonious and appealing. The location on the Elbe cycle path just ideal. Our warm hostess more than spoiled us daily with a very varied breakfast, which left nothing to be desired, so we felt completely comfortable and glad to come back.

Great B&B by river

My wife and I stayed here for one night when driving back from Austria to Poland. The hosts were very welcoming and offered us a complimentary glass of sparkling wine on arrival which was a nice touch. Our room was slightly quirky with the bed up a couple of stairs from the rest of the room which was fun and all very comfortable. The B&B is located right across the road from the river and it is a short walk along the river in to town. We stayed on a Saturday night and when we went in to town for dinner we found that most restaurants were full so you may want to book ahead. In the end we had dinner in the restaurant of a hotel which was actually very pleasant so it all worked out fine! In the morning breakfast is served in an impressive underground room and the breakfast spread is also very impressive, you will not be left hungry! You can park for free on the road outside the hotel. An enjoyable stay, would recommend.

Absolutely wonderful

Visited this guesthouse with friends whilst touring beautiful saxony. We can't fault this guesthouse in any way at all. The owner, who's name unfortuneately we can't was really helpful, with nothing being too much trouble. The guesthouse is an old converted bakery and has been modified with every modern convienece and in a quirky way. Comfy bed, wonderful breakfast, with local delicacies, spotlessly clean and within reasonable walking distance of old Meissen town. It's unlikely I'll tour this beautiful part of Germany again, but if we did we would have no hesitation in staying at this guesthouse.

Surprise, pleasant surprise

On our drive throught Germany we decided to spend a night in the famous city of Meissen where the famous china stems from.
What a pleasant surprise, the gasthouse only has a few rooms and they are all very different, very spacious and truly charming. Your host live in the old building. The breakfast must be one of the cosiest, charming candle light breakfast I have ever had. You are spoiled with every forseable treat you can think of in an unique setting in the basement. Everything is delicate and beautiful, a total Meissen experience.

A fine B&B

A fine B&B, well decorated, spic and span on the road across from the river. Booking.com says “river view from all rooms”..not the case but we we were cheerfully moved to a front room. The river is wooded across from the hotel and you are a mile or so from the main bridge to town. As the building is directly on the road there is a bit of road noise. Kleenex, no washcloths, cash only, no credit cards, flat screen TV with CNBC, Bloomberg and BBC, with lovely breakfast and free wi-fi but had connection problems in room and it worked in the hall (Room Amanda), Could not stay connected in the room until late at night. Nice little restaurant two doors down. Definitely recommend you stay here understanding the internet which may or may not be a problem or a requirement for you. My comments are just to educate...great B&B. Owners lovely and helpful.
