Fantastic stay with friendly host
We had a quick stay at Haus Sonnenschein, as we arrived at 22:00 and left at 10:00. First of all, this was not a problem for our wonderfull host. He was very friendly and welcoming.
The room was totally clean and the beds were delightfull. The breakfast was all you could wish for and we even got bags to make ourselves a take-away lunch.
We did the half an hour walk to the wonderfull castle and it was no problem for our host to leave our car at the hotel.
If you ever come across Mespelbrunn, stay at Haus Sonnenschein!

Very nice, clean, and comfortable
We just stayed for 1 night. The apartments are very well managed. Breakfast is more than perfect. Clean and top bed and bathrooms.
Would stay here again with the family. Also for 1 night staying close the autobahn is perfect

Beautiful Stay in a Beautiful Place.
This place went well beyond my expectations. We were doing a road trip across Europe on a budget, and so use Booking.com to find somewhere good value to stay each night. We were leaving Rothenburg heading west so decided on this place. When we arrived we were greeted by a gentleman who didn't speak much English, and my German is not that great, sorry! Later in his wife and son greeted us and they were all so polite. I forget the Lady's name, but she was so friendly and welcoming, told us about the local area, and where we could eat. And also told us about the castle which we would never had stumbled across without being told, it's definitely worth a visit. In the morning we were greeted with some lovely yoghurt. Such a lovely and welcoming family. Will definitely stay here again if we are in the area. Thank you!

Beyond any expectations!!
Since we arrived to this wonderful family-run hotel everything seemed to be outstanding: hospitality, attention to us, room, property, surroundings, breakfast !! We were met by the owner welcoming us right after we stopped the engine of the car and were still inside thinking to park or to have a lunch first. We were together with our daughter after a long drive and he offered immediately a bite (fruit and yogurt) for her! The room as well as the hotel inside and outside (the garden) were extraordinary cozy and chic: from the big furniture to the very little details like a shower gel in the bathroom all looked very well thought through! We needed a child bed and it was put into the room even with a little sweet plush bear:)) it was extremely cute! The breakfast was another part of our stay that conquered us (even my reserved husband:))) completely! First of all it is not a typical buffet. It is served individually at the convenient time with all your wishes collected in advance. Our table was served and looked like in the five -star restaurant ! We had homemade yogurt, meat and cheese cuts, fresh bread, fruits, eggs and even the individually cooked porridge for our daughter! The property and hospitality of both owners are complimented by the surroundings and the location: the castle at the lake, forests, hills, hiking opportunities, nice restaurants in the little town. We left the hotel being totally astonished and extremely thankful to the owners for our short but such an extremely positive and unique experience!

Ambiente hat gefehlt
Wir waren zwei Nächte in diesem Pension. Das Zimmer war schön, groß genug und vorher perfekt sauber gemacht/desinfiziert. Das Frühstück war mehr als ausreichend. Die Sicherheitsmaßnahmen wurden größtenteils eingehalten. Was uns hier jedoch gefehlt hat, war eine entspannte und ehrliche Ambiente. Es war irgendwie zu gekünstelt. Mein Tiefpunkt war jedoch die Diskussion beim Frühstück mit dem Wirt. Unaufgefordert hat er uns seine Meinung gegeben über biologisches Essen (alles Verarschung), Corona (ist nicht mehr als eine Grippe) und die ´verrückten Grünen´ (die Klimakrise existiert nicht). Wobei er mich dann tatsächlich unbewusst als verrückt hingestellt hat. Solche Diskussionen führe ich sehr gerne mit Freunden, aber nicht mit dem Wirt des Hauses. Regel Nummer 1 in der Hotellerie: Du solltest Deine Gäste das Gefühl Willkommen zu sein, der Gast ist König. Und das hat hier leider gefehlt. Trotzdem war unser Aufenthalt noch befriedigend, aber mehr auch nicht.
