A good compromise for visiting Munich

Pension structured on several floors, without elevator, clean and modernly arranged. Room with suitable spaces, minimal bathroom but good for those who do not have great needs. On the first floor in addition to the reception there is a room used as a breakfast area (coffee maker, tea etc. operating from 7 am to 10 pm). Quiet location, metro very close or alternatively you can reach the center in 20 minutes walk and 5 minutes Theresienwiese.
Private indoor parking is available at 10€ per day.
Super recommended for travelers who know how to adapt.

It was so bad

i stayed in hotel pension schmellergarten for 3 days with my friend. It was terrible. The staff was unfriendly. The rooms are not as it seems in the pictures. It was too small for 2 people. It was not worth the money that we gave. I dont recommend this hotel

It was very terrible. Never go to this hotel.

Me and my friend stayed at this terrible hotel for 3 days. The stuff was very rude, unfriendly and unproffesional . The room was very dirty and there is no room service. Even there are some bugs under my bed. Price was very high to this dirty room. I dont recommend this hotel.

Weekend city break

An absolute gem. Rooms are a nit dated but very clean and comfortable. Had a fridge, microwave & TV in the room sink and shower. Shared toilet but that wasn't a problem. Close to local bars restaurants etc also close to transport linked. Oktoberfest site 10 min walk away. Definitely recommend this small hotel.

West German functionality, East German charm.

Calling this a hotel is a bit of a stretch. It is really a hostel with some private rooms. There is no elevator in this 4 floor building. There supposedly a breakfast, but I didn’t use this. The room I had was sufficient but worn. The hotel was clean enough, but not sparkling. It was quite dark and uninspired.
The location was near the U train station and only 2-3 stops from all the tourist spots on Marienplatz. There were a few bars and restaurants in the immediate area of the hotel and the neighborhood was quiet and residential and seemed quite safe.
Overall it met my needs, though I would likely go elsewhere in the future. If you just want an inexpensive place to sleep while in Munich, it is fine.
