Your idea of “hospitality”: a profound disappointment.

When traveling, one expects every hotel to be guided by a fundamental principle: hospitality. This word should represent not merely a service, but the very way guests are welcomed, respected, and treated. Unfortunately, at your hotel, this concept seems to be completely unknown. Our experience was deeply disappointing—not only because of what actually happened, but above all because of the attitude shown toward those who had chosen to stay with you. In particular, I would like to highlight the behavior of the receptionist wearing glasses who assisted us during both check-in and check-out. From the moment we arrived, she treated us as if we were a nuisance, rather than paying customers who had chosen to stay at your establishment. Far from showing hospitality, her attitude was cold, rude, and at times, downright nasty. We consider this demeanor absolutely disgraceful; it played a major role in making our experience a negative one. It is a real shame we did not learn her name, as we would have liked to specifically report this behavior to management—behavior we deem unacceptable for anyone working with the public, and especially for someone dealing with hotel guests. One expects professionalism, helpfulness, and respect. We are not asking for special treatment; we are simply asking for the standard of service that should be the norm when paying for accommodation. What we received, however, was the exact opposite of what "hospitality" should mean. I urge you to reflect seriously on the image you wish to project to your customers. A hotel is judged not only by its rooms, facilities, or online photos, but above all by how it makes a person feel the moment they walk through the door. And after this experience, we felt like anything but guests. One thing is certain: we won't easily forget this experience, and it is unlikely we will choose your establishment again.

A Tragedy in All Aspects

We booked two rooms for two families, of a total of three children and three adults. The disgruntled man in the reception tried to gaslight us into thinking we had booked just one room, and that it was a suite and we'd all fit. It wasn't a suite and we wouldn't have fit, and of course we had another room booked.
The next day we decided for sandwiches across the street for breakfast, as no one mentioned anything about the free breakfast I now see advertised here. From the sandwich place we witnessed a horrible tragedy where a man jumped from a hotel window to his death. The hotel later tried to continue the gaslighting; told us it was a local living above the hotel (it wasn't), and we witnessed them lying to other guests about the nature of the event (that a car had crashed into the building, hence the aftermath). There was no attempt made to help us with the traumatic experience our children witnessed, other than a 'tut mir leid'.
Now, obviously I don't blame the hotel for someone's horrible death, but nothing about this experience did anything to alleviate the trauma.

This is a very nice hotel near the old town and good communications. It was easy to get there to and from the airport with the train to Karlsplatz. The breakfast was very good and the room was clean and quiet. It took about 15 mins to walk to Marienplatz.

The experience was quite bad. The reception staff was unpolite. The hotel is in quite bad shape and there was a horrible accident at the hotel that my kids witnesses. Although that was of course not the hotels fault, the staff span the story and didn't tell the truth about what happened. We could not have happier getting out of there.
