Hotel with youth hostel flair

Great accommodation with very nice and uncomplicated staff. Rooms are basic but everything there you need, even an electric kettle with tea bags there was in the room. The location on a small plateau is great, the Astenturm and the Lenne spring only 10 minutes walk away. In the center of Neuastenberg, you can just walk down the slope. The breakfast was delicious and nothing was missing.

Great place in the Sauerland

We spent 5 days in the Sauerland and stayed at Haus Astenberg, we had a great time there: fine room, a delicious breakfast in the morning, very very friendly owners and a great location. From the hotel you can make beautiful walks.
We will definitely be back again!

Lovely stay

We stayed for a long weekend in this family operated hotel. Very warm welcome, easy and swift check-in.
Our room was ready even we arrived before noon time, which was most appreciated. We stayed in room 2 (downstairs). The room was very spacious and warmly decorated.
A proper breakfast is served from 8:30. We booked our room with half board. Dinner is served around 18:45. The food is well prepared and nicely served, just delicious.
Kind staff and good service.
The hotel is very well located on a ‘hill’ (with parking facilities) in the middle of nature, really nice to make long walks.
We travelled with our dog who was welcome at an additional cost.
Will definitely stay again in this charming hotel!!

Lovely 4 day stay

We had a great 4 days in a spacious Luxury room with a beautiful view of the landscape.
The owners were very friendly and gave us a warm welcome and we enjoyed the very good variety of breakfast !! The good dinners were accompanied with very tasty wines. Look forward to passing by again ✌️

Run like a prison

We stayed here 3 nights. Do not make the mistake and stay here! The old lady at the reception (i assume the owner) will give you a dirty look and attitude for anything that is not on their rigid schedule. You're not treated as a guest here but rather a prisoner, so do not expect any service. They are not kid friendly either! And the free wifi does not work at all. We told the reception about it and she stared back at us blankly and said it was our problem. Never again do we stay here even if we were offered a free stay. I will say the food was decent.

mit großem Bedauern lesen wir, dass Sie sich nicht willkommen fühlten, was der Schilderung nach besonders einem misslungenen WLAN-Login geschuldet ist. Jedem Gast helfen wir, der uns über einen notwendigen zweiten Maxspot-Login-Versuch informiert. Dieser gelingt auch!
Kinder sind bei uns herzlich willkommen, wobei wir allerdings tobende Kinder bzw. deren Eltern um Rücksichtnahme auf andere Gäste bitten - aus Sicht unserer Gäste nicht kinderunfreundlich sondern gastfreundlich.
Über eine persönliche Kontaktaufnahme zur Klärung würde uns sehr freuen, da für uns der hier geschilderte 3-Nächte-Aufenthalt nicht nachvollziehbar ist.
