One night stay. Great owner

So we came upon this hotel by accident on our road trip. We had planned on staying in Ulm but time conspired against us so we booked this place.
At first, we were a bit baffled by its location and how quiet the area was on our arrival in the evening.
There was no receptionist on site but a simple phone call to Kirsten and we found our room key. Our room was Botswana themed but that didn't bother us as the facilities were clean and comfortable.
Kirsten kindly recommended few local places to eat but we ended up at the Kebab shop across the road which hit the spot!
As we walked around the village we noticed lots of historic buildings and descriptions in German. Unfortunately neither of us read/speak German but the following morning we asked Kirsten and she kindly explained that the whole area is part of the Castle Road or Die Burgenstraɓe and lots of weddings happen around this spot.
As a result of finding out more about the road, we carried on our road trip along this route. Huge thanks for opening our eyes to new road trip adventures!
If I had to sum up this hotel, it'd be "Don't judge a book by its cover".

Unfortunately no more catering

Only one hotel left, with very friendly breakfast service. Some rooms have been newly renovated with comfortable beds. There are enough parking spaces in front of the building. Sometimes it looks like it has closed completely.

Great experience!!!

Pretty hotel located in a nice area of the Black Forest. The room was very clean, and designed in pretty Black Forest style. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I recommend to reserve also dinner in the restaurant of the hotel- The food was very tasty and we got great service!
In addition, there is small massage clinic in the hotel- also recommended! Great massage and care!:)

Really good local food

Nice restaurant, very traditional location and ambiance, unfortunately with an inefficient temperature (I‘m not a friend of air condition but it was really very hot). Food was really good especially the meat was of high quality and regionally grown - so definitely a place to come again.

Countryside hotel just a 20 minutes drive from Heilbronn

Had some appointments in Heilbronn Area but finding a reasonably priced hotel overthere was quite complicated. Found "Zum Ochsen" and I must say I happy that I booked my stay here. The hotel is family run and you notice that on all the details, friendly reception, nicely appointed rooms comfortable bed. free wifi. Breakfast in buffet style. Diner was service in the terrace patio and it was nice as well. All in all a good value for money and a plce to return to.
